Yes, my use over the years is the same (OTA). In my case OTA means "Over The Antenna". Since smart TVs have been standard for a decade, I have found that a simple PC running a forum distro connected to the TV provides 'worlds' of additional tools and performance that enhances my use of the screen.
My PCs uses only 2 cables: power and HDMI.
I'm sure you and others have been doing this as well for your benefits at home.
