I have used other Linuxes; or at least tried them. Which is why I mentioned that under Puppy with its employment of SFSes and portable applications (and AppImages for most new Puppys) you will never loose an application by updating it. You would think that by now that would be true of other Linuxes. But it wasn't. IIRC, I was running Kubuntu. It's Package Managers should be 'rock-solid' for the applications they offer. Updating firefox left me with a broken application. And unlike Puppy, few if any Linux Distros provide diagnostic tools such as ListDD.
In order to obtain a working firefox, I had to transport Mikewalsh's portable-firefox into my Home Folder in Kubuntu?, figure out how to get that OS to recognize where the portable was and custom build a menu.
