Clarity wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2024 8:46 pmBTW: The polish this has taken on could become a Leading Puppy Linux Forum offering that progresses to be an "Official" distro from this KL family in the same way FATDOG and EASY being official from this forum having landed on Distrowatch. It has all the modern features todays LInux distros are racing to. ...
This comment was made due to the enormous progress of the combined work of members in this section of the forum. I am 'high' on the forward-thinking elements being exhibited by the KL family of distros. This distro, in particular, is phenomenal in its position for major elements in Linux's future...across the distro spectrum. And this, or some other advance KL distro like it, would attract more contributers and users.
Everyone wants something simple, easy to use, and modern. This KL is one, placing this in user hands.
Clarity wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2024 8:46 pmHi @Sofiya that desktop is beautiful with great components.
Is there any chance that your next build will open that as the OOTB starting desktop for this Hyprland ISOs?
I feel it will jumpstart user use, navigations and acceptance. Thoughts?
Here's an example where upon booting to desktop in a users pristine use, the opening desktop opens to this, below, for their first useful navigation screen.
.
It is beautiful IMHO.

If you were a little more attentive, you would notice that this is a KLV-Airedale desktop With Yandex browser open

Oooh, nice looking conky!

Is this booting correctly?? I think we have a problem with the initrd.gz! At least in Airedale there are mount point failures during system startup that seem to be causing the failure of the desktop environment from starting correctly

Yes

Dear Sofia
I appreciate all the work you have done
I really like KLV-Hyprland_CE
I use it on an Elitebook 8560p laptop
I'm just scratching the surface of Linux and English.

- Boot problem
- Brightnessctl does not change the brightness.
- The wallpaper does not always load
but if i log out it keeps loading- What is the difference between the 3 places?
/home/spot/.config/hypr/configs/autostart.conf
/home/spot/.config/hypr/configs/exec.conf
/home/spot/Startup

/home/spot/.config/hypr/configs/autostart.conf
/home/spot/.config/hypr/configs/exec.conf
/home/spot/Startup
1. Boot problem
What is the problem ? you won't boot to desktop. what's the problem with booting?
2. Brightnessctl does not change the brightness.
comment out lines 23-24 in /home/spot/.config/hypr/waybar/themes/Retro/modules.json
. as in the screenshot below
Brightness can be adjusted with the mouse wheel
3. The wallpaper does not always load
set wallpaper
select MOD + D (Waypaper) from the menu
@Xyz You can ignore that warning. It is caused by the timing of the boot loader handing off control to the initrd.gz which hands off control to the kernel as the system is loaded. It should not cause any problems on the running system.
I'll look at the udev set up to see if the warning can be fixed
@Xyz
Don't pay attention to this, it's not a loading problem.
kernel opens the console node to provide the stdin/stdout/stderr for init
Thanks for the quick replies.
Even if I scroll to 0, the brightness does not change.

did you comment out the lines?
comment out lines 23-24 in /home/spot/.config/hypr/waybar/themes/Retro/modules.json
if you commented and the brightness is not adjustable, add "device": "acpi_video0",
as in the screenshot
you NVIDIA card ??
The brightness of the backlight does not decrease
show terminal output
Code: Select all
brightnessctl info
and your config ( /home/spot/.config/hypr/waybar/themes/Retro/modules.json )
Here you go
If you do not answer the questions I asked, I will simply no longer respond to your messages, I am not clairvoyant. Please provide full information about the work you have done
I asked a question, what NVIDIA video card do you have?? or Radeon. I see in your photo (acpi_video0)
Code: Select all
{
"backlight": {
"device": "acpi_video0",
"interval": 2,
"format": "{icon} {percent}",
"format-icons": ["🔅", "🔆", "☀️"],
},
I didn't mean any harm, it's just that my English is poor
show /sys/class/backlight
I asked a question for the 10th time, what NVIDIA video card do you have?? or Radeon

It's a good news
From everything I saw, I can conclude that this is either a hardware problem, or the lack of a video card driver (NVIDIA), or this kernel is not suitable for you
Considering that I still haven’t received an answer to the question which video card is yours
try typing in terminal
Code: Select all
sudo /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness 10
