just tried it out in an old, unpristine xenial64 7.5 installation i have, and it worked fine. you may just need libgtk3, which should be available through the ppm or packages.ubuntu.
Do you have 32 bit libs sfs loaded? I installed li gtk3, but I still continue to get the same error. Do you tried booting in a fresh pupsave booting with pfix=ram?
libgtk-3-0_3.10.8-0ubuntu1.4_amd64.deb
no 32 bit sfs loaded, and i believe the gtk3 package i installed is the tahr era 64 bit deb linked above.
newer packages exist, and i think i did use a 32 bit precise version in a 64 bit tahr at one point (maybe with the 32 bit sfs loaded, but i seem to recall the older packages being no arch back then, or the older, still accessible versions were (and believed i used one with my xenial installation until i began poking around in the set up folders i had for the installation--seems pretty clear that my memory is wrong and the tahr package is what i used based on what i found)).
if you want to try out some other versions, i came up drier at packages.ubuntu than i was expecting, but https://pkgs.org/download/libgtk-3-0 has a bunch.
hth
(and if it doesn't help, did you have any success with your earlier vlc solution? does messing with the audio player config files affect libreoffice in your setup?)
thanks for the feedback, Dingo, and sorry for the delayed response.

@Puppus Dogfellow it seems that libreoffice team changed something starting with 7.1.x branch. In fact libreoffice 7.0.6 build works flawkessly on xenialpup64 7.5 CE with gtk UI and right sized menu fonts. I'll strive to grab the needed gtk dependencies of later builds picking from bionicpup (where latest libreoffice builds have no problem) in order to preload on system like xenialpup64

First let me thank josejp2424 for publishing the LibreOffice 7.2.2 SFS. It works very well.
However, I run Puppys using JWM as Window-Manager. And Puppy's JWM has its own way of categorizing applications for display on its Menu. Installing the attached pet will only change LibreOffice's category designations to those consistent with JWM's structure so that on a Puppy's Menu the individual applications will appear in appropriate Subcategories.

Caution: Do not use with --uninstall if using-- LibreOffice AppImage. It does not work with the AppImage, itself, and conflicts with MikeWalsh's portable employinhg an AppImage.
By default the modules of LibreOffice are not the default applications for their respective activities. On my boot-menu are listing for the Puppys I frequently use. Some of those have two listings, one will use a SaveFile/Folder, the other not (pfix=ram). On the latter I have not chosen to designation LibreOffice-writer or LibreOffic-calc as defaults for their respective activities but sometimes will want odt and ods files (respectively) to be opened by them immediately after the LibreOffice.sfs is loaded. To avoid having to run default-choose, restart-x, and then re-open these applications (which restart-x will close) I've added them to the Right-Click menu.
The attached pet will do that on your system. But only for LibreOffice 7.2. (I believe it will work with any 'point' upgrades --e.g. 7.2.3, 7.2.4 etc.).
Check back. Now it's not working. Will fix and re-upload. I think I got it sorted. Let me know if I didn't.
Only LIbreOffice-writer and LibreOffice-calc will be added to the Right-Click pop-up menu.

Hi josejp2424,
You really do great work. But while you're keeping Puppys' somewhat odd way of handling menus in mind, perhaps this might also interest you, viewtopic.php?p=21369#p21369, "Menus under xfce". Applications such as Right-Click "Create a pet package" generate Desktop files whose Categories' argument complies with Puppys' JWM expectations. When installed to an OS using xfce, there's a good chance they will end up appearing only in xfce's Menu>Other.
If you decompress the tar.gz attached to that post and copy xfce-applications.menu into either
/etc/xdg/menus and/or /root/.config/menus
xfce will place puppy applications where they can be found more easily.

moijdikssekool, you haven't given us sufficient information to try to solve the problem. First, please confirm that you installed the LibreOffice-7.3.2_64_en-US.pet. If not, what did you install and from where, i.e. from what url.
File-browse into /opt/libreoffice7.3/program. You'll find a file there named soffice.bin. Right-Click it and from the pop-up menu select ListDD. [The DD stands for Dynamic Dependencies.] If you don't already have ListDD on your system, you can install it from here, https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... 260#p32260. Exit>Restart Graphical Server (AKA Restart-x) to register ListDD on your system.
When ListDD opens you'll see a button at the bottom with the name "Missing". Left-Click it. Are any dependencies shown as missing?
Right-Click the soffice.bin file and select "Run in Terminal" from the pop-up menu. Does the application start? If not, does the terminal report any errors?
In the same folder you'll find a number of scripts such as soffice and swriter. Right-Click those two and again select "Run in Terminal". What happens?
By the way, I prefer SFSes to pets. After unloading a functioning SFS (Right-Click>sfs_load, its a toggle) you can try (SFS-Load) an SFS. If there's a problem you can reverse the process and report it. But you still have use of the old, functioning application until the problem has been solved. When you install a pet it over-writes the old version's files. [In fact, you should have uninstalled the old version before installing the new to avoid the off-chance that some old file will remain causing a problem]. At any rate, if there's a problem with the new version you no longer have the old version to fall back to.
The only problem with SFSes is that the files of any version you installed is in your SaveFile/Folder and has priority over any in the SFS.
