incomplete installation of Firefox 117.0 build 2 (solved - alt. solution)

Post by cobaka »

.. .. .. incomplete installation of Firefox 117.0 build 2

(Added later. pp4mnkLinux provided an 'alt' solution. Followed his instructions (above) - now have FireFox 117 installed and working.)

Hello all.
I used puppy packet manager (FossaPup 9.5 - has "Tasmanian Devil + pink moon" background) to install Firefox 117.0.
At the end the download report was displayed. Please see #1, below

(#1) I see "success" and "failed/nothing"

(2) BUT here is a report showing the files that are (it seems) not linked

(3) Then I see this:

missing_v2.jpg

Can anyone tell me what action I should take to link the libraries and complete the installation?
Thank you and a hearty "woof" to all!

собака --> это Русский --> a dog
"c" -- say "s" - as in "see" or "scent" or "sob".

Hi, @cobaka :

I can't help you with your question, because I never used it to install apps. for fossa, I go to the download page and I download the software version for Linux..... tar, extract it and put the extracted folder into OPT.

That's all.... :D

It's 117.0.1/115.2.1 already. A critical fix for libwebp.
I think it should be possible to disable just the firefox notification pop up instead of disabling the update notifications altogether.
