The latest shotcut appimage will work with latest EasyOS.
EDIT: Requires libwayand- see several post down
Must be root user.
Older versions won't.

Yes, sorry. I was confused with Fatdog64 900 beta where it does work.

I get the same message as you when I use it with newest EasyOS (Kirkstone 5.4.10)
Too bad. It's the only video editor I use.
FSpy and Blender does work however I must use cycles rendering mode to see subdivision surface modifier.

The error message is misleading.

In fact it is the SDL 2 library used by shotcut who needs another libraries not available in EasyOS : libwayland-client, libwayland-cursor and libwayland-egl (see : https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/libsdl2-2.0-0)

I have copied the files libwayland* from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu on the distribution MX 21.3 in /usr/lib in Easy and the error message with SDL2 has disappeared.

Pet with these files :

libwayland-.1-mx21.3-unofficial.pet

I tested shortcut and it works like a charm with libwayland added.

Blender however is buggy when i use it with EasyOS.
Strange since it works well under fatdog64 900 beta.

Recent Bender versions work well in Easy OS when I upgrade my video driver to the nvidia proprietary driver

The nouveau driver (open source driver) didn't work so well for me .

I tested newest Shotcut AppImage with Easy OS 5.6.5
https://shotcut.org/download/
and it will work if libwayland is installed.
