Old Cellphones -ARM chips ??!!!

Post by chilibowl »

:?: hey -have an idea -any one here ,dEvelopers /experimenters -have you noticed the oVERsupply of Cellphones that people have that have ARM chips/Android OS-es.
here in the States -there are fREE phones that folks get thru Public welfare agencies & they are often Abandoned/discarded.

Has anyone installed Puppy LINUX or some of it,s derivatives onto one of these -Providing all old os ANDROID is wiped off of it???

Hmmm - could make a nice handy backup computer/with out the supply chain issue <S> that Raspberry Pi has ran into!!???

It is a good idea, but full of difficulties, the first one is fighting against all these companies that earn money selling telephone related products.

They could be the worst enemy.

A fantastic option to reuse materials and tecnology.

Here it is

I wish you would continue with arm, no arm after xenial

Keşke arm ile devam edilseydi, Xenial sonrası arm yok
