brother hl-2250dn printer stopped.

printer has job listed as stopped, without explanation. usb connected. how to fix pls? how to set printer permissions pls.
printer driver is not preferred, tho matches printer?

@boof - what is your actual model? Most Brother lasers are compatible with HP Laserjet 5 driver. I use that with mine.

/usr/lib/cups should have '...755...' as permission.

tried removing group from write and execute permissions of ~/filter., can't enter CUPS admin nor printers to clear print queue

cd /usr/lib/cups
chmod -c 755 filter
seemed tobwork,

reboot
but still no admin/printer access

You will have to use:
cd /usr/lib
chmod -R 755 cups

steady green light, only 1 button, holding it down makes unit self test, red light flash 2 lights above green light. can't read text beside it. changed approved users to root, spot.
usb connected, default server not set.
do have spare cartridge if needed, but will wait til i'm sure.

If you look at /etc/cups/printers.conf what does it report on:

NextPrinterId
<DefaultPrinter ...>
...

cant copy nor cut/paste file
can't access partions to getvthe fuke to print to setup working conditions. only 1 icon, nit 4, and when r click >edit action is

/tmp/pup_event_frontend/drive_drives
does not use rox type output. can't fix it. may have to restart savefile, but din't waht to, too much to lose.

i did NOT choose spot for this web use, but i keep getting it added into my downloads, v annoying. an unwanted default. can't remove it once installed. can't have admin XOR spot specific files, and swap them as needed? i can't access CUPS to install printer now.

CUPS.PDF only printer installed. cannot get beyond 1st screen of printer install. to update it.
