Mostly just a link to my post on mow9902's myVPN thread, viewtopic.php?p=9233#p9233. Do read the thread and thank mow9902.
Windscribe offers an impressive array of servers worldwide, https://windscribe.com/features/large-network. mow9902's utility includes a GUI for choosing among them. It also includes OscarTalks's VPN-ONOFF tool.
Rather than obtaining openvpn (however I managed that under Bionicpup-- I think OscarTalks pet) you can probably employ the instructions 666philb provided as Step 3 for protonvpn, viewtopic.php?f=85&t=1085&p=7747&hilit= ... apup#p7747. FWIW, the openvpn version via the above will be 2.4.7. That provided by OscarTalks' pet is 2.4.3. I doubt there's much difference.
Of course, if you've already installed protonvpn using 666philb's instructions, openvpn is already part of your system. To add Windscribe, you only need its deb and mow9902's myVPN package.
