Browser recommendation for older machines

Post by amethyst »

64-bit that can handle DRM content. I'm using Firefox at the moment, works well but heavy on resources. Palemoon does not seem to be able to handle DRM content. Any recommendation for something "lighter" than Firefox that I can try?

Talking about browsers, is like talking about beauty... Each one has its own preferences...haha, but forgeting subjective values, and only thinking about size, I must give you two options:

1.- Waterfox.- Reviews at: https://internet-security.bestreviews.n ... x-reviews/

2.- Palemoon Reviews at: https://slashdot.org/software/p/Pale-Moon/

3.- Brave

And not in that order...haha

I don't use any of them, but when talking about size (without forgeting what they offer...haha) they are my preferences.

And if you are used to firefox, you can read this: https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... 203#p19203

n.b.- My favourites SlimJet and Firefox

I have Palemoon but I can't play DRM content with it. Anyone got it going with DRM streams? I like Palemoon, have used it a lot over the years.

HI @amethyst,

https://www.palemoon.org/technical.shtml#features

[...]
"The following features have been disabled or removed by design:
[...]
In-browser DRM. Digital Rights Management using "black box" content-decryption modules to serve a self-imposed DRM-encumbered media market that punishes the wrong parties has no place in Pale Moon. If you wish to use such media, you can use plugins with DRM features like Microsoft Silverlight."

... I don't know of anything like that for the linux version of palemoon...

peace
