Pale Moon version - doesn't update? (solved)

Post by MrAccident »

(update: Pale Moon server was broken ― so no problem)
F96-CE 4.
I downloaded the Pale Moon version from PPM, and it's 28.13.0; the current version is 32.2. But when I check for updates - it says that there aren't any.
I mainly care cause some Extensions don't work.

Pale Moon has done some changes to how stuff is done.

That version from the PPM is really old and does not have these changes.

Use PPM to uninstall the Pale Moon you did install. V 28.13.0

Download and install this deb package of the latest Pale Moon
https://download.opensuse.org/repositor ... _amd64.deb

This worked for me.

Note:
Check for updates is no longer there to click on in this v32
I guess now you have to go find a newer version to download and install.

This is where I got the deb package I used.
https://software.opensuse.org/download. ... e=palemoon
The binary packages directly for xUbuntu 20.04 are compatible for F96-CE
.
.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.

Update:

I am starting to think your update problem with v28.13.0 was maybe the Pale Moon server being broken, at the time you tried it.

I just tried internal update in a Pale Moon v31 and it seems to be working.

Now, I am not sure why, internal update check is not still in this deb package of Pale Moon, I provided?

Must have been Pale Moon server was down.

On 06/16/2023

I uninstalled Pale Moon and installed the Pale Moon v28.13.0 from PPM.

I updated it to v32.2.0 with no problem, using Pale Moon -> Help -> Check for updates.........

@bigpup - yep. I reinstalled the 28 version and updated twice. Thanks.
Indeed I didn't find any mention of there not being update anymore; after all - that would be weird even for them :-D. Just my luck, that it happened on that day.
