Documents do not translate for me using google translate with Palemoon. I'm talking about documents (a file uploaded with the documents option to the google translate site, ie: https://translate.google.com/?sl=en&tl=af&op=docs. Now I've checked up to Palemoon version 31 but no cigar. it goes through the process but the supposedly "translated" document is the same as the original uploaded file (so no translation has been done). Firefox and Chromium works. I was wondering if users of the latest Palemoon version can check for us if this issue still exists. I like Palemoon but the compatibility issues with google sites are getting tiresome. Thanks.
Has anyone got Google translate to work in Palemoon?

Re: Google translate using Palemoon
The latest version of Pale Moon is 32.2.0
It has a lot of improvements and fixes.
So I suggest using it.
This is just an idea to try.
In add-ons -> Other
Download and install the Palefill
May or may not help, but it does help to be able to read stuff on Github.
Note:
Pale Moon v30 and v31 were releases, trying to fix bad code, that was placed in it, by a disgruntled Pale Moon coder.
But this may just be a Google thing.
Google seems to be willing to work with Firefox to let it still support Google stuff.
The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected

The point of my post was to ask someone who does have the latest Palemoon to check BEFORE I download something that does not work (that will just be a waste of time and data). otherwise I would have just downloaded the latest and check myself. But hopefully someone will come along and confirm what I'm looking for. BTW - I don't just upgrade something just for the reason of being newer. For instance, I'm back using version 29 after using version 31 for a while and realising that version 29 is just better!!!

Re: Google translate using Palemoon
Well with Pale Moon, to keep up with the changes on how web pages work.
I have found you do need to update it to the latest version.
Version 30 and 31 were fixing bad code that got put into Pale Moon.
Yes, those versions had issues.
Version 30.0 was when the bad code was put into it.
They scrambled with V30.1, 30.2 etc.... trying to get it all cleaned up.
Really did not get it working good until v31.

Try being really helpful and check whether the latest Palemoon works correctly with Google Translate as asked in the first post, thanks. I don't think this has anything to do with any bugs, it's a matter whether Palemoon can work properly with google sites.

Re: Google translate using Palemoon
@amethyst :-
Nic, Google Translate appears to work fine for me under 32.2.0......although this IS the 64-bit version. I haven't gotten around to upgrading the 32-bit 'portable' build yet. Issue after issue here at home for several weeks now, but I'll get around to it; if the 64-bit build works OK, I can't see why Steve Pusser's 32-bit compile shouldn't behave itself as well.

Re: Google translate using Palemoon
Pale Moon 32.2.0 64bit.
Does not work for me.
Tried it with a .docx file.
It downloads what is suppose to be the translated file, but it is not translated.
Question is why?

Translating text typed onto the web site works.

@amethyst :- Okay; posting this from 32.2.0 in 32-bit Xenialpup 7.5. Working OK here, too.
@bigpup :- Got no use for .docx stuff, though I realise many will have to use such. Seems to work fine translating the foreign-language sections here on the forum.....which is about all the use it would get from me.

Thanks, this is exactly my issue. Does not work with Palemoon when you upload a .docx (or any of the other allowed documents, I suppose).

The issue is with translating documents (a large file like a book), not when copying and pasting into that little box (the latter works).
Re: Google translate using Palemoon
You can do the conversion if you use the Google Docs site (the translate option is under the tools tab). It complains about the version of "Firefox" being too old but it works. More work, slower, more frustration and data waste but at least it will get the conversion done. So, not great but it's an alternative when using Palemoon.
