Puppy Linux: Full installation on mbr hdd/ssd

Post by sucuklu yumurta »

I know you don't recommend it, but I like to set it up completely

Bionicpup32 19.03 Kernel 3.18.138 (non Pae) Available in Gnumeric (Excell) Abiword (Word) and CUPS (Printer)
https://disk.yandex.com.tr/d/4gZ_NxHAotFlig

Browser:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup/ ... /browsers/
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ubuntu ... lla-build/

If I am not mistaken, this type of installation is not available in every version, some versions ask for iso file.
I think the ''Precise'' version can be installed this way, I'm not sure, I'll check later and add here the Puppy derivatives that can be installed on hdd this way

@forum moderators,

Poster didn't notice that this is the "Instructional HOW-To Section" which is for giving instructions and tips, not asking for assistance. Please move the original post to the 'User's Section'; then delete this reply.

That first link.

In a way it does tell how to do a full install using the Puppy Universal Installer.

But it is doing it by showing a bunch of images you will see as you use the Universal Installer.

So it is showing how to do a full install, but not in the best way to do it.

People need specific statements on you do this, than you do this, and you see this.

No Puppy version is designed around a full install anymore!

It was for the old days of slow ram limited computers.
I am talking about 512MB or less RAM.
Pentium 3 and early Pentium 4 CPU's.
A full install uses the lowest amount of RAM.

Well, people asked for it, because they just could not believe how Puppy Linux is really designed to be used and installed.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o
