Volume Icon disappeared from tray

Post by stevie pup »

Ok, I've probably done something silly, but while I've been playing around with Bookworm somewhere along the way the volume icon has disappeared from the tray at the bottom.

How do I get it back? It's only that one that's gone, all the others are still there.

Thanks

@stevie pup

When booting, the tray audio application (pa-applet) is called via /root/.config/autostart/pa-applet.desktop and the corresponding icon should automatically appear in the tray.

Hi, @stevie pup .

That's right, this file must appear at the autostart folder, but.... ... it depends what puppy are you using and the audio configuration.-

I said this , because for me, this file doesn't appears, but I have the pulseaudiio-equalizer.desktop icon..... so I hope something similar (or different) could happen.

Have a nice day.--

Please, let us know if you solved it or not.- CHEERS.

Thank you both for your replies. Yes I know the icon should appear automatically, but it isn't doing.

Never mind, ignore me, I think it's all down to me, and I've just noticed something else has vanished. At one point I did remove some built in packages, which I know can be risky. Probably removed too much and it's taken something else away.

So I've deleted the save file and started again from scratch.

Yes removing packages is risky, but I've always found retrovol to be quirky. It just disappears for no apparent reason sometimes. It does usually come back on reboot though.

It's also a little quirky to get configured at times, but at this point it's one of those endearing qualities of puppy-linux.
