Can I do this with the standard Puppy applications like mtPaint or Inkscape? Example: I have a picture say a .jpg file, now I want to import say the Puppy logo (which is a .png file) to the first image/canvass at a certain spot/area and save the new image. So the logo should basically be on top of the other image.
How to combine images?

With mtPaint:
Open logo.png
Menu - Selection - Select All
Edit - Copy
File - Open - choose canvas.jpg
Edit - Paste - move and press Enter to paste once (Esc to exit the paste mode)
File - Save As ...

Re: Importing an image to an image
mtpaint can do this
Open the background in mtpaint and drag the logo from your filemanager onto it.
In the right viewer drag the logo to desired position.
From menu Layers -> Save Composite Image
