How can I configure my puppy not to save by default?

Post by pp4mnklinux »

Hello everybody:

I have my puppy configured the way I want (F96CE_XFCE_FUSILLI).

I have it installed frugally in one of my disk (SATA) partitions.

By default, it saves all the changes I made, when I reboot or in the moment.

How can I configure this to change this option?? That is, that puppy never save changes, except when I give it the order.

Thanks a lot.- (I searched in this forum, and they say about Mode 13 or something similar.... can u explain me step by step, please?)

Have a nice day u all.- CHEERS¡

Force to run in pupmode 13 no matter what drive Puppy is installed on
viewtopic.php?t=263

Pupmode 13 will allow choices on how the save works.

Right now you are running in pupmode 12.
Save is updated exactly when you do something, that needs to be in the save.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

Change the boot parameter in your boot configuration file to pfix=ataflash. Boot up, a save icon will now appear on your desktop. Go to Puppy Event Manager in the menu. Under the Save Session tab, enter 0 for the time interval and check the Ask at shutdown box. Whenever you want to save changes during a session, click the save icon. You will be asked if you want to save at shutdown again.
