Hi, I have tried several options like "exec:session-quit --log out","exec:wmpoweroff", "exec:poweroff", in the GUI for shortcut:
Menu---JWMdesk---hotkeys---command. None of them works, because, close Desktop, but keep running the system with an CLI window, waiting commands "root#"
Some command that could works in this context. Thanks!
Using F96-CE, at the moment very good impressions. a little hardweight but for my pc runs smooth, frugal install on the same partition of window10.

Re: Shortcut for shutdown
Hi:
It's possible this pet doesn't work in fossa, it's possible that is not what you need, it's possible..... but I love this pet, because you have a lot of options when shutting down (take a look at the image).
It's called PUP SHUTDOWN PET (here is the 3.0 version). You can download it from
https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code ... jY3b8tzBBy
I love it, because it gives to you the SUSPEND option, no other shutdown program gives it to you.... and whith it you gonna save energy, disk health....

Re: Shortcut for shutdown
The attached file can be copied to /root/my-applications/bin/ and then drag an icon to the desktop. It ask no questions, just goes straight to shutdown.
You can also just use jwm to make hotkeys if you like.

Or you can just use rox to drag /sbin/poweroff on to your desktop.
I then rename it "Shut Down" so the TD users understand.
Then I set the icon to use the /usr/share/pixmaps/puppy/shutdown.svg

What brand/model of machine are you using?
Also - what pupmode are you running before shutdown?

Re: Looking for a shortcut for shutdown
My F96-CE_2 is a frugal install, using a save folder, and directly updates the save as needed.
Running in pupmode 12.
I made this shortcut key combo in JWM hotkey keyboard shortcuts
. .
It is Ctrl+Alt+s
Because of what it does, I figured having to press 3 keys would be best to make it not so easy to select.

Being a keyboard user, I open my terminal and type "po" (poweroff) or "rb" (reboot). I setup alias in .bashrc
alias po='wmpoweroff && exit'
alias rb='wmreboot && exit'
make sure to save whatever you are working on before. This works in all pups.

Re: Looking for a shortcut for shutdown
create a desktop symlinks to /sbin/poweroff
and /sbin/reboot
, assign each an icon and then there will be 2 icon shortcuts on the desktop for shutdown and restart one click away.
Or put the shortcuts on the tray or panel
