FYI - Mega Appl Desktop

Post by soniabu »

For your info, if someone else wants to install Mega Appl Desktop in the Bookworm system (Debian12),
the following sw are required as a prerequisite today:
a) libssl1.1
b) libc-ares2_1.14.0-1+deb10u2_amd64.deb

which I downloaded from these URLs:
https://packages.debian.org/buster/libssl1.1
https://packages.debian.org/buster/amd6 ... 2/download
ciao

@soniabu
Hi Sonia, thanks for the info, but better IMO would be without 'buster' packages (best is always to follow the "branch" or "release", use package(s) in this case for Bookworm (or called 'testing' or Debian 12).
I went here: https://mega.io/nl/desktop#downloadapps chose Debian and downloaded the megasync-Debian_testing_amd64.deb for 'testing' (= Bookworm still now , but mid of this year becomes the 'stable' branch):

And installing it, did also install all required dependencies automatically (from the Debian Bookworm repo), no separate 'buster' .deb packages needed.

It's true I saw Fred now that there was also testing; I only stopped at Debian 11 and foolishly downloaded only that. :?
Now I redo everything.
Thanks Fred.
