Pongo el post en bilingüe castellano/ingles;
- He procedido a actualizar a la última versión estable.
/root/.retrovolrc
/etc/modeprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
/etc/modules.conf
/dev/mixer0
[English]
Hello everyone.
My name is Trscem and I am from Spain. I've been working with computers for many years, both as a technician and as a programmer in different fields. I'm a linux fan and I avoid W**** whenever I can.
Well, I don't know if this post goes well here since I haven't used a forum for many years, I know I'm older than a forest.
I put the post in bilingual Spanish/English;
I'm working on a small personal retro-computing project where I have rebuilt an old 32-bit Pentium 4 tower with 2GB of RAM and 1.1 TB of memory spread over several internal hard disks.
It has a Maestro ES1968 sound card.
Graphics card.
The motherboard is hypertrheading.
The operating system is Puppy Linux Bionic Pup 32 bit 8.0, I have explored all the forums in detail for at least a month trying to find a solution to the case that the computer has no sound if I connect headphones both by:
- Front jack and mic ports
- Rear jack and mic ports of the sound card and the video card.
- I have proceeded to update to the latest stable version.
- I have installed alsa mixer, all alsa modules, and all drivers related to each piece of hardware.
- I have proceeded to use the sound configurator with all the options in an orderly and sequential manner. I have even proceeded to change various files as indicated in the forums:
/root/.retrovolrc
/etc/modeprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
/etc/modules.conf
/dev/mixer0
Even reinstall the operating system several times. I even tried with a React OS Live CD to test the sound and it worked. I followed the regular partitioning protocol appropriate for the hard drive.
Now I proceed to put the data on the machine:

--(I add a reply to this post to add more information)
So, after trying to recognise the sound and detect the soundcard properly and testing all the jacks and configurations with SMPlayer and VLC, extensions added I cant lisent any video on any player or in Mozilla and Chrome.
So, I hope can show all possible information about my old computer and put all data to solve the problem.
So, many thanks in advances, I will try to answer to any question.
Thenk you very much folks.
XOXOXOX Terscem.
