There are questions and:or demands of a better Puppy Forum.
I made a suggestion for building a more logical structure. Not completely, because I can not build the forum. but I can make a graphical scheme for what I (I) think is logical in the structure.
One problem: mathematically it would be easy because than there is only one logic. But because we are people and we do not think alike, there are several logics to the same problem.
What works for me, does not always work by default for the other. that is also why Linux-users choose different desktop to work with.
The underlying is the same, but the shell is different.
On other Linux distributions I work with a MATE desktop. I can not work with a KDE desktop, because I can nor find my logical way in there.GNOME 3 freaks me out.
People work with the desktop they are just to, but also because they can see the logic in all the features presented to you.
The very same with forums. You need to find your way in it, and therefore it should be logical.
As I told you above: personal logic is not the same for everyone (it is kind of a contradiction and this phenomena is not logic at itself), so the only way out of this, is to only use the mathematical logic which normally anyone can relate to;
This also means that you can not give in in any circumstance. The logic must prevail so that anybody can understand it;
E.g.: a text file in a folder called TXT;
Seems logical, don't you think?
There comes another problem to mind.
When people start to save their text files in a folder called STUPID, there will be people that will not find the text files anymore, because they should be in the logical folder TXT but they are not there. So one has to keep a very tight structure to keep track of your files;
Well. All this is to point out that to keep a forum needily accessible that you need to put every thread in the place where it is supposed to be in. Otherwise peole cannot find the thread or related comments;
To make this happen, you need a good and solid and logical structure for the forum so that people intuitive can find the right place to put a new thread in, and know where to look for certain information., so you do not have to read every single thread to find what you are looking for.. Also to find what you are looking for, EVERYONE needs to post in the appropriate thread.
So: not only must there be a logical structure, but it is most important that that structure is maintained. Otherwise you get chaos and nobody can find anything any more.
The main people behind our beloved Puppy's do strive for a better accessible forum where anybody (newbies and oldies alike) find their way easily.
Indeed: a new structure would be welcome, but until than you can help the forum and yourself by posting in the appropriate threads on the forum.
I thank you all for reading this!
