Information We Need To Help You

Post by bigpup »

A good search for anything Puppy Linux
https://psearch.puppylinux.com
https://rockedge.org/psearch/
.
.
.
.

DO NOT POST IN THIS TOPIC.
THIS IS INFORMATION WE NEED.

Start your own topic, about your specific question or problem.

Post a topic in Beginners Help section, is good place, for new to Puppy Linux users.
If problem or question is about a specific Puppy version.
Best to post in the Puppy versions specific topic.

Minimum information we need:

What specific Puppy version?
Examples:
Bionicpup32 8.0
Xenialpup64 7.5
Xenialpup 7.5
This tells us what it is and is it 32bit or 64bit.

Computer make and model or specs?
CPU?
Memory?
Graphics hardware?
Network hardware?
Any info about the computer can always help.

How is Puppy installed?
Full, frugal, or live?
Installed on what drive?
Hard drive, USB flash, emmc, SD Card, CD/DVD, etc.....?
How is drive partitioned?
The partition(s) are formatted what format?
Puppy is installed on which partition?
If a installer program was used to do the install. WHAT PROGRAM????

Post only one question or problem to a topic or reply.
Hard to follow a topic, talking about several different issues or questions.
There is no limit to the number of new topics you can make.

Understand that you are our eyes!!!!
We only know what you tell us!
Give specific details.
You do what?
You see what?

This gets proven every day.
What you do not tell us is usually the clue to fixing the problem!

Again, you do what? You see what?

If we ask you a question, answer it!!
We do not ask questions just to do it.
The answer is a clue to finding the fix.

If a suggestion does not help.
You do what? You see what?

If a fix is found.
Let us know what worked.
It is like reading a book and the last page is missing. When people do not tell us what fixed it.

Understand that people on this forum are all over the earth.
It may take some time for people to see your topic and figure out a solution or answer.
It may be 1PM where you are, but 4AM where I am, on the earth. :) :o

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o
