From X.org to Xwayland.... is it possible? VanillaDpup

Post by pp4mnklinux »

"By default, Vanilla Dpup uses Xwayland, for tear-free and hardware-accelerated rendering. If Xwayland fails to start, Vanilla Dpup automatically switches to X.Org, and doesn't try Xwayland ever again. If Xwayland starts succesfully on your hardware but you still want to change to X.Org, go to Display settings (inside Puppy Setup, under the Setup menu):"

Hello everybody:

When I installed frugally in my HD vanilladpup ISO, when it started appeared an option to choose xorg or xwayland.

I chose xorg, but I dont know if my system is xwayland capable.

I read how to go from xwayland to xorg, but I cant find anything about going from xorg to xwayland.

Is possible go to xwayland??? ... Only to see if my system can use it.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Try to boot a 10.0.x development build ISO. You can find download links in https://vanilla-dpup.github.io.

@pp4mnklinux @dimkr wants you to test the xwayland ISO found here. <=== click on the word "Assets"

You might also report your findings on this thread, here.

Hope this helps

Thanks @Clarity , but as I said I found a difficulty.- I tested this iso, but when I decided I want to install it on my hard drive, only the usb option appears when intalling, so...

Is there any way to install it into a hard drive???

Thanks
