How to use Hp 3400c scanjet with xsane in Bionicpup64?

The scanjet hp 3400c is supported by Sane using a backend. How can I add this backend in puppylinux? I have bionicpup64.

I found a solution:
First
In bionic64, quickpet, get system updates.
In the package manager, update repositories.
What we are looking is in the bionic distros repositories, mark them for search.

In bionic32, just update repositories in the package manager.

Second
Go to the package manager and search for hplip.
You will find hplip, hplip-data and hplip-gui
I installed hplip with its dependencies (about 60 mb).
Plug in the usb and the power for the scanner and reboot.
Run xsane, menu>graphic>xsane
Make a preview or a scan.
In /etc/sane.d/dll.d you will find hplip.
It worked for me without installing other backend or uncommenting anything in the config file. Good luck
