xfce4-panel question - RESOLVED

Post by dcung »

Hi all,

I usually swap alsamixer-tray with volumeicon-alsa in StretchDog and BusterDog installation (specifically ddog flavour of Fred's mklive).
They're using xfce4-panel.

I found that I could not do this in Bullseye - I don't know how yet.

I noted that these are the versions:
StretchDog -> xfce4-panel 4.12.1
BusterDog -> xfce4-panel 4.12.2
Bullseye -> xfce4-panel 4.16.2

In StretchDog and BusterDog, volumeicon appear as 'known' after installation.
In Bullseye, it does not appear. How do I make it 'known' ?

Screenshots notification area of : xfce4-panel 4.12.2 VS xfce4-panel 4.16.2

I think it's "known" when it has autostarted once, not sure though.
Probably you need to symlink /usr/bin/volumeicon in ~/Startup ln -s /usr/bin/volumeicon ~/Startup/volumeicon

I did several times. I also tried making new Bullseye mklive with volumeicon. No Joy.
