Oops, I accidentally removed puppy USB while running

Post by mr_gs »

I'm running pupmode 13(session in RAM). While working on my laptop, I accidentally removed my puppy USB. All my files are now in ram. Is there any command to remount the USB

Fossapup 9.5 64bit Kernel 5.4.53
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz
8GB RAM
Intel (R) UHD Graphics

If you're running in RAM you should be able to put the USB stick back in, unless you were mounted to a pupsave on that USB, which then the pupsave might have problems being used again. If ALL your files are in RAM however, you should be able to make a pupsave on the USB after re-inserting it.

I'm not sure if my advice is solid though. So try at your own risk. You might want to try the pupsave backup found in the utility menu first. Or it might be safer to simply reboot and lose your unsaved changes.

@mr_gs I would try before doing anything further, is to plug the USB stick back into the machine. It should show up on the desktop as a partition(s), then simply click on the USB drive icon which should mount the usb stick again. Then perform a normal reboot or shutdown and the save file/folder on the USB drive should get written too.
