"Unable to save all files. You need to delete some."

Post by Governor »

I booted from my fassapup64_9.5 thumb drive via an older stationary computer.

After getting the message "Saving RAM to pupsave." I keep getting the message: "Unable to save all files. You need to delete some."

Where are files being saved and how do I recognize them?
How will I know which files to delete?
Is it possible to save the files to another place?
Is there a setting that allows for a certain number of files and to delete an old file before writing a new one?

Thanks!

Perhaps your Pupsave file is not large enough?
You can resize it from the menu if that is the case.

In Puppy I use, this feature is located in:
Menu -> Utility -> Resize personal storage

If the save file is stored on a partition formatted fat32.

The max size a save file can be is 4GB.

That is the max file size for fat32 format.

You can keep from putting everything in the save file.
Documents, videos, downloads, pictures, etc.... can be placed at locations outside of the save.
/mnt/home is the same partition Puppy is on, but not inside the save.

Only settings, configurations, and actually installed added software, has to go into the save.
anything else can go in /mnt/home

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o
