Re: dpupbuster 64 puppy linux desktop Mate 1.24
I just started using this a few days ago, on 3 different computers.
Bluetooth works OOTB, with no issues at all. First Puppy in which I have got Bluetooth working.
Pulse Audio works OOTB. No issues at all First Puppy in which I have got Pulse working.
Mate works OOTB. A delight to use, with no obvious issues.
And I setup and ran a video recording/editing setup (source from VHS tape) using OBS Studio, LosslessCut, OpenShot and Handbrake, which were either in the PPM, or available as an SFS from the site pointed to in the SETUP menu. All work well. Pulse Audio has really made this recording/editing setup setup feasible for me for the first time.
And there are ZOOM and Skype plus many other sfs packages available from the same site (untested).
Thanks so much for this Puppy variant. A great result !

Re: dpupbuster 64 puppy linux desktop Mate 1.24 - savefolder
Hi José,
thank you for this nice puppy ...
I gave it a try with a frugal usb install (sdb1 on ssd), booted via grub4dos
Boots fine
------
title Puppy dpupbuster64-MATE 8.0 (sdc1/dpupbuster64)
find --set-root uuid () xxxx-yyyy
kernel /dpupbuster64/vmlinuz pdrv=xxxx-yyyy psubdir=/dpupbuster64 pmedia=usbflash pfix=fsck
initrd /dpupbuster64/initrd.gz
------
At shutdown I created a savefolder on sdb2 ...
but:
savefolder on sdb2 (ext4) is not found (boots straight to pristine status)
I have some other puppies on the same ssd which all find their respective savefolders on sdb2
with the same entries in menu.lst - so?

hi one
you need to change the pmedia line as at the moment puppy thinks it's booting from a usb

Code: Select all
pmedia=atahd

thanks for your quick response.
i tried your suggestion (pmedia=atahd) and also pmedia=ataflash - but no luck, savefolder does not load.
By the way: the ssd is extern - connected via SATA-to-USB-cable, frugal install is on sdb1 (fat32), savefolder on sdb2 (ext4).
I have to add <psave=sdb2:/dpupbuster64/> to the kernel line in menu.lst - and now the savefolder is recognized at bootup!
Another question: my internal harddisk partitions are all mounted (sda1-sda4) after boot - how/where can I avert this behaviour?
Re: dpupbuster 64 puppy linux desktop Mate 1.24 - savefolder
Are they actually mounted, or just visible as accessible. If they are mounted they will have a mounted indicator on the right hand side when viewed in caja.one wrote: Mon Aug 03, 2020 7:52 pm Another question: my internal harddisk partitions are all mounted (sda1-sda4) after boot - how/where can I avert this behaviour?

@TerryH - all devices are in fact mounted
@foxpup - thank you for the hint. So I can move/delete 01pmadas_run out of the ~/Startup folder to avoid the automount?

I make a directory 'disabled' in Startup and move it there.

Unable to run Anydesk 6.0.0
Hi everybody!
I'm unable to run anydesk 6 (whether 32 or 64bits). I have no trouble at all with version 5.5.6 64 (generic version) but when I run 6 (64), a message appears: And that's it (when trying to run 6/32, it doesn't even start, despite the fact I added the needed 32bit libraries to 32bit_compatibilty_dpupbuster64.sfs)
I also tried to run it as spot but to no avail.
Has anyone run it succesfully?
Thanks in advance

Re: dpupbuster 64 puppy linux desktop Mate 1.24
As I posted on the other Dpup Buster thread, I did a new frugal install of the Dpup Buster Mate beta 4 on my laptop creating a new save folder. I have been having an issue with the mintMenu and all of the other panel apps are frequently crashing requiring to be reloaded.
