Puppy package manager trim the fat issue

Post by LLe »

1. Steps to reproduce: Open puppy package manager, install a big package like libreoffice deb from bullseye repository, select trim the fat after installation
2. Expected result: trim the fat window opens and you are able to press ok buttom
3. Actual result: the list of packages to trim is too long, unable to select options because the window extends beyond the desktop
4. Environment:

OS version vanilladpup-x86_64-9.2.25

application version v2.5

What window manager are you using?

AFAIK, most, if not all, WMs allow you to move a window to anywhere at all on the screen.

Press and hold the ALT key.
Use the left mouse button anywhere on the window to drag a window anywhere you like.
You do not need to drag the title bar.

If the OK button is at the bottom of the screen,
you can drug the window up as far as it needs to go, to see the OK button.

@LLe :-

As @williams2 has said, with JWM you press & hold the ALT key, then using the left-click mouse button it will give you a 4-way "arrow". While you hold it you can move the window anywhere you like, by clicking anywhere within that window. You're not limited to dragging the window by the title bar, using this option.

I agree that this is a PPM issue, and it could easily be fixed by putting the list into a scrollable box (and yes, I did that and it works), but PPM may not be maintained anymore, so the ALT+drag workaround seems to be the only option.

@MochiMoppel If you know how to fix this and willing to help make this problem go away from all future Puppy builds, woof-CE needs more working hands :)
