@geo_c :-

Mm....no. 'Fraid not.

The only reason I have that one is because it's one of the only Puppy wallpapers I actually like....and it was the basis for the desktop on my personally-customized remaster of Slacko 5.6.0, a long-standing favourite of mine.

Sorry I can't help with that, but I imagine there must BE a collection of the older Puppy backdrops kicking around somewhere. I just don't know where, though.

Mike. ;)

@amethyst It has turned out to be the best skin for XMPlay that I've installed. I like the inferface and it's easy to use and adjust quickly with clear oversight!

@geo_c That is a really good looking desktop. Goes together nicely and good oversight vision

Here's my current desktop. It's Grey's JammyPup64 that I've slowly been tailoring it to my tastes.

A shot of Table Bay/Lions Head/Signal Hill, Cape Town, taken from Tygerberg Hill (looks like)? I live about a kilometre from there. :thumbup2:

my son visited Cape Town in 2019 to see the city and the Cape of Good Hope. I got it in his mind at a young age what an adventure it would be to round the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Horn on a sailing ship and maybe weather willing, actually see them.

He did not sail on any square rigged clipper ship to get there but flew with an airliner. He did really enjoy his stay in South Africa and enjoyed Cape Town. I would like to visit one day

Thanks Barry, there's so much stuff, I found some nice backgrounds in there. I'm getting a hankering to make one for KLV-airedale. These gave me some ideas.

Well I had once designed a C program that would change desktop wallpapers, and provided it shortcut ket (I gave it Super+Tab I think), pressing which would run it and change the wallpaper. But the code was lost when my save file had mistakenly been deleted (see this, which also gives a message not to double click a save file from ROX from any other puppy not running with the save file). I will try to develop the same and share the code on the forum.

Icewm can do that.

If you mean, a different wallpaper for each monitor you can do that.

1) Display the wallpaper image for each monitor, full screen so there are no icons or bars over the image.
2) Use a screen shot program to save a screenshot. That screenshot is the wallpaper for all your monitors.

For example

Code: Select all

(sleep 30;mtpaint -s)&
viewnior background1.jpg

press F11 to show the wallpaper jpg full screen.

Code: Select all

viewnior background2.jpg

press F11 to show the wallpaper jpg full screen.

Wait for the screen shot.
Save the screen shot

In other words,
1) display the wallpaper pictures fullscreen on each monitor.
2) Do a screenshot and save it.
The screenshot is the wallpaper file.

EDIT: fixed typo changed mtpaint to mtpaint -s

Nothing spectacular. Just celebrating my new 9.6 version of Fossapup64. Following MikeWalsh's lead, I took dimkr's advice to use the latest woof to build one, but keep it simple. https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... 767#p69767. [After all, with the ability to later swap kernels and add an adrv and ydrv, there wasn't any pressing need to figure out how to select a kernel other than offered or what to add or delete from 'Built-in' applications]. And as dimkr suggested, it boots and opens applications faster.
