Berto, do you remember which ones? I've just d/l a half dozen and everything's come through ok.
full paths please if you can from http://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos/amd64/packages/ so they can be accurately checked
thanks

Berto, can you try d/l using your browser rather than petget please and see what happens, path is http://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos/amd64/ ... e/dunfell/
After that, whether it fails or not, also try updating the petget database in petget and see if that helps;
I'll stay on for a while to see what happens or login again in a couple of hours if I have to get out.
EDITY: tried those specific packages and they came down ok.

if you click on them, there will be an offer to install. Beware though, if the package requires dependencies that aren't installed, then the package won't work.

Try running the package manager from a terminal, see if there are any error messages to the console when you attempt to download a package:

Code: Select all

# ppm

@Feodorf It was working for me too, I wanted to see if the problem was access to the packages or a ppm problem, maybe timeout, since he could manually d/l them using the browser it looks like it's ppm related, so then i thought maybe on the offchance his database related. Barry has added what I consider the next test using ppm manually in a console too see any ppm errors.
@Berto I still would like you to do the second of my and then Barry's tests please, we would like to try to solve this in case you can't use ppm or it happens to someone else, thanks

It happens as soon as you use local folder instead of ibiblio.

Good morning,

@FeodorF

ja, das gleiche wie bei mir ...

@BarryK and @scsijon

I've tried again from commandline, but no useful message output. then I've tried in EasyOS4.2.7 I get another error message, but it doesn't work also. The strange thing is, that installations from pet-dunfell and pet- noarch are working, only oe-dunfell not.

@Berto

Benutze den SeaMonkey Browser mit der Zeile: https://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos/amd64 ... e/dunfell/
und bewege "make-4.3-r9-nocona-64.tar.gz" nach /files , dann funktioniert es.

@FeodorF From the top of the page, yes, something like that error, but with ibiblio.org , which means there is a problem with the package, not ppm, but as seen in his following message below yours, that's not what getting, his system can't find ibliblio when using ppm, but can via the browser. And it changes when you go down to his next message.

@Berto From your second message screen 2.png I wonder if the problem with installing is with xz, using a sakura terminal screen do xz --version and look at the version number, if it's not 5.2.4 you may need to download and install a new copy of xz, it might be worth trying to install anyway, try via ppm first and if not via your browser, from your sakura screen it looks like maybe it's been corrupted somehow, or just missing, you didn't by chance remove it inadvertantly. I suppose you haven't been removing packages that are necessary for ppm to work by any chance because you didn't think they were needed. i'll be back on in about 4hrs if needed.

Ja danke, ich probiere es dann nachher.

@scsijon

Yes okey, thanks, I'll try this later too. I didn't delete any packages: in 4.2.7 not, and in 4.4 also not.

I still had a fresh install of EasyOS-4.4 on another partition, and tried to download/install there. Everything works well there. I can install with PKG and the files downloaded with browser too. Very strange, but I'll use that partition now. Maybe somewhen I'll get back to it, but for now I don't have time for searching the reason.

Thanks to everybody for your help.

OK,
since you have another 4.4, start that one up and run a filecheck on the faulty ones partition, maybe a sector or file has been corrupted, it should tell you and allow it to be rebuilt.
please let us know your results when you have time, as what fixes for someone may save someone else in the future.
