Yes mike, I read a lot of your posts because you state things in "easy for old guys to understand". Even though I have used Puppy since version 4 came out my retention and thought process is not the same as it once was.
thanks, pete

Heh. Ah, well; nice to know somebody appreciates me..... :P

Glad to be able to help in any way I can. I've always been a "chatty" type, but the very relaxed, informal atmosphere of the Puppy Forums just seems to bring out the worst in me! :D

(At 60 myself, I guess I too now qualify as an "old guy". (*sheesh...*))

Mike. ;)

Hi all, i have the same Cannot connect eth0, problem

I have pretty much done EVERTYTHING everyone here has suggested, my Ethernet RealTek Semiconductor RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC on a INTEL CPU & ASUS MB, in Windows 7/10 & 11 it works fine and many other Linux distros, and some Puppy linux cant remember which

a complete hit and miss affair if i do connect .changes are not saved or if they are DONT work

UPSHOT i always have to put in my static ip and gateway and dns, it assigns a weird ip in an different subnet,

My router is set to supply same ip evry time. i have ordered a cheap usb to ethenet adaptor EBAY,

i did not see the solution. here i did look thro the pages

regards K

Start your own topic about your issue.

Pick a specific Puppy version to use.

I am sure we can get you fixed.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o
