I have used Puppy for many years, but the version I was running on a USB was quite old so time to re-install, I thought.
I decided to try the Yumi exFAT version, however when I came to rebot the first time the pup_save file was not created despite the process asking the questions I expected, but without the file size step. When I rebooted my setting had not been saved of course.
So I then tried the Yumi UEFI version. This did create the pup_save file which was then accessed on the second boot, so my settings were restored. However there was no desktop icon indicating that the save file would be updated periodically or on the next shut down.
I then investigated the "Save Session" details in the Puppy Event Manager. It tells me PUPMODE should be 13, but it is actually 12. It also suggests "pmedia" needs changing but I cannot locate that parameter in the grub.cfg file.
How do I fix this?
Should this work with the Yumi exFAT version?
I am on Windows 11 and using the fossapup64-9.5.iso
Thanks.
