can u pick one series like 500, 600, 700 ... and continue develop for old computers ?

How old is the computer you are calling old?

800 series runs fine on 10 year old machines

I think if your computer is too low on RAM then 32 bit will be useful. But if 64 bit then, the current version works fine.
