Is Easy OS better than Puppy?
Hi guys,
I just found out about Easy OS from Barry Kauler's website.
He says that Easy OS is a combination of ideas from Puppy and Quirky.
Why didn't I hear about this Linux distro in all my research when I was looking for a good distro for my old computers?
Have any of you tried it out?
Is it good for low-spec hardware?
I'm interested to learn more about it...
Kind Regards,
John

Re: Is Easy OS better than Puppy?
Easy OS is not Puppy Linux.
It is it's own OS.

Barry K originally developed Puppy Linux.
But a few years ago he stopped working on Puppy and turned it over to the Puppy community to keep developing Puppy.
He still likes to try new things and play with codding.
So, he started Easy OS as a OS to try new things and mess with.
As with any Linux OS.
Only way to find out about it is to try it and see how it works.
It is it's own OS.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected

@jm03 - Easy is BK's experimental OS - is maturing, but I think Puppy versions are probably better for new users right now. (I'm another of the 5 million in Melb.)

Easy OS is 64 bit, if you have old computer they are most likely NOT 64 bit

seems to be the latest 32 bit from 2018-Aug-23

if you do frugal installs you can try as many puppys and easys as you like simultaneously on your drives, then you can know what you like
