Yeah, looks good if you need to do a lot of typing, with minimum fuss. For example, authoring a novel.

This is pretty cool, not sure how useful in modern world when Libre can boot pretty fast, but sure does bring back memories of DOS word processing. This would be great if you had a very marginal computer to work on, say an old thin client or something. Sure one would get used to the keyboard commands just like back in DOS days.

Will this pet run on Fossapup64, or is it tailored to EasyOS?

EDIT: the answer is Fossapup doesn't have the required glib. So it does not run.

The pet might not, but sure it could be done without too much problem on any linux, especially if you have one with a good package manager like apt-get. This is a minimalist app so there you go. It was designed to even run in terminal on linux AND windows, so just depends how much you want it.

I suspect you could also track down ancient DOS word processor programs and run in DOSbox. They still work as well as they did then, just dont support more modern formats. But then neither does word grinder.

Or can tell you if you have WINE installed, look for free version of app called Jarte. It uses WINE version wordpad already there. I have the portable version installed in WINE on my EasyOS. It loads instantly and is very full featured. The older versions couple buttons on console incompatible with WINE but looks like current version works fine in WINE.

Wordgrinder compiles really easily on Fossapup, the devx contains everything needed. You get the X11 and CLI versions (stripped and not stripped) all in one go.
