Somehow I have 2 root partitions

I am new to puppy os. I have two partition sda1 and sda2. where sda1 is the partition, I installed puppy os.
All goes well untill i do something i dont know. That i make two rooted partition. if i save anything in sda1 that data also saved in sda2 this makes my storage full and the system slow. I cant delete the partition sda 2. Because that partition was locked. But i installed puppy os in sda1. Plzz help me to solve this problem.

Hello, barath.....and to the 'kennels'.

No, I too cannot imagine what you did to duplicate your partition. However, you cannot delete sda2, because if it IS somehow linked to sda1, then Puppy is seeing it as an 'active', system partition......and you CANNOT delete an active part of ANY OS while that OS is running.

Really, you have two options.

• Delete Puppy, re-format your partitions, and perform a re-install. OR,

• Boot your computer from a Puppy on either a CD or a flash drive - an 'external' OS, y'see - and then you can try deleting sda2. However, you may find that Puppy will complain loudly if a parttion it's expecting to find as part of itself has suddenly gone missing..!

A re-install might just be the best option. However, others may have different ideas; don't act on mine just yet.

+1 on reinstall.

Create 2 partition, eg sda1 and sda2.
Install puppy to sda1. Choose to save on shutdown. Only choose to save when needed or important changes are made.
Move and save your stuffs, downloads to sda2.
This way, the savefile will be slim. And your puppy will always in "Fresh" condition as you can always poweroff without save if mistakes are made.
