Rox set run action problem

Post by courtage »

Bionic64, i7, 12GB, Lenovo Thinkpad T530

having a problem with Rox.

Trying to set run action.

Rightclick file, select "set run action"

Immediately lose all icons on dsktop, blank black desktop.
Doesn't hang anything, all the open apps are there & running and available in their windows & can be closed.

Have to restart X to get desktop back.

How else can I set the run action for a filetype?

(I note that the Choices/ directory contains a link to MIME-types -> ../../etc/xdg/rox.sourceforge.net/MIME-types but that path doesn't exist (rox.sourceforge.net exisits in~/.config tho) - not sure if this is related)

I just really want to set some filetype run actions in rox

Not sure, why /etc/xdg/rox.sourceforge.net/MIME-types doesn't exist in your installation. Did you delete it?
Try with a new, empty directory.
In a terminal run: mkdir -p /etc/xdg/rox.sourceforge.net/MIME-types
Then again try to set run action for your file.

Have you done the Bionicpup64 8.0 update?
If no.
Do it using Quickpet -> Info -> Bionicpup updates.

Reboot and update the save, so changes are now being used.

Any help?

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o
