Did the term protestware exist before?

Post by Grey »

That's what I didn't expect. Does anyone know if there was a term protestware before?
Description and Drama (author deletes comments).
The node-ipc package (used in vue-cli, Unity, more than a million downloads per week) has a commit with obfuscated code. The code overwrites files on the device and replaces them with files with emoji hearts, if this code was launched from a Russian or Belarusian IP.

The authors of vue-cli have released an update in which they fixed the dependency on the node-ipc version without malicious code. Unity Hub has also been updated. The package has been added to the blacklist npmmirror.com .

I was given a link to a related article on BleepingComputer. Indeed, it is more convenient to read there. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/s ... raine-war/

Interestingly, the developer of the outrage is a former motorcycle racer. What can I say, a desperate guy.

Really.
I vaguely guess that Let's Go Brandon is something to do with some kind of story with Biden.
But I still didn't understand what the Nissan NX2000 had to do with it :)

By the way, @peebee has a thematic avatar. I hope this heart and inscription is just a beautiful gesture :)

It was expected. I can understand such a move and gesture and not condemn. Besides, it won't hurt anyone, because everyone interested reads in English.

The most sober and effective approach is made by the Blender community. Not to block, not to draw hearts all over the file system, but to help refugees.

They are selective about the wars they protest.
There are other wars...

So that was all the sirens marking. The first time NATO attacked the sovereign country.
The hymn is long gone. The South Slavs screwed up, we are cheap labor for Germany now.

The South Slavs screwed up,

I found out today about Vučić's adventures at the UN :) He says he was blackmailed during the vote. The people here are outraged, they say he just won the election and immediately ;) ...
