Re: Peasy wifi - Easy to Follow Instructions

Post by mikeslr »

PeasyWifi wasn't built into the Puppys I've recently used. I haven't had a problem establishing wifi connection with any of the built-ins and usually operate under the adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Moreover, my often flaky memory suggested configuring it was confusing. But recent posts recommended PeasyWifi. So, having some time on my hands and running my Puppys so that on Reboot nothing not Saved would become a permanent part of my system I figured "What the heck" ;) and installed it. [No-Arch, it's available via every Puppy's Package Manager].

I was pleasantly surprise. :D My memory had been flaky. Clicking Help brought up these easy to follow instructions:

Note the possibility of encrypting Profiles; and working with unusually named devices.
Just thought you should know.
Thanks, rcrsn51, for this thoughtful alternative.

Attached below is PeasyWiFi v4.8 for Puppy. This is a 32bit version, which just means that the tray launcher is 32bit. In a 64bit Puppy, you can run PWF from the Network menu.

If anyone wants the "full" 64bit version, post a request.

Be aware that the PWF installer disables the other Puppy connection managers so they don't interfere with its operation.

One of the first items installed when setting up a new Pup system.

Nothing short of 8-) *stellar* functionality.

Thanks a bunch for all your comprehensive Puppy related input through the years.
