Puppy Linux on HP Chromebook 11

Hi!
Can I run Puppy Linux on HP Chromebook 11? It has 2GB RAM, but only 16GB disc space. I don't like Chrome OS, it is closed and restrictive. I want to be able to run lightweight and small .exe apps, like offline translators, old text and graphic adventure games ect., via wine. Also, I want to be able to do the next common tasks: read pfds (I'll do it all the time for my lessons, so I want a good program), open pages in broswer (I prefer firefox over chrome), chat via telegram and viber, watch video files (mkv maybe). The problem with the last common tasks is: Chrome OS is build to not need disk space, while puppy linux might not be. Is 16GB enough? Is a good idea to change the OS of this notebook? And if yes, which puppy derivation suits my needs?

Thank you. But I am confused. I see a lot of HP Chromebook 11 models, but not the model 11-1101US. Is it supported?

The specs for this computer say it is using ARM Cortex architecture.
So, it needs a operating system designed for ARM.

Puppy Linux will not run on it.

Puppy Linux is designed for x86, x86_64, and AMD64 computers.

The info for using ArchLinux ARM for this computer that is using the same processor, may work for you.
Read carefully the install procedure.

The listed specs look the same as specs for your HP chromebook.
Samsung makes the processor.
Who knows they may be the same computer.
Yours has HP on it and this one has Samsung on it.

Yes, it has Exynos CPU, so I can't use puppy linux. Can I use Arch Linux ARM given the fact that the notebook has only 16GB disk space (little less actually)?

Edit: A better question rather is: Is there any "less restrictive" OS than Chrome OS that I can use on this notebook and that is worth it? Or maybe I need to find another notebook.

Edit 2: Somone wrote me that Puppy Linux made some isos for beagle boards with arm cpu support. Should this concern me?

Did you even read the ArchLinux link I posted?

The Link is about installing to a computer with the same specs as yours.

AS I understand. The Puppy Linux versions people tried to come up with for ARM.
They where experiments to see if it could be done.
Not much development work was done on them.
If you can find a link to download one of them.
You could try installing to a USB drive or SD card and see if it would work.
That would probably be all it would do is work.

Even normal Puppy Linux versions, need tweaking to get everything working, on a specific x-86, x-64, amd-64 architecture Chromebook.

I checked carefully and I don't find differences. I have some questions. It says:
"These instructions will create a dual-booting environment where you can switch between booting Arch Linux ARM and the stock ChromeOS."
I thought 16GB may not be enough even for Arch Linux ARM only, will it be enough for dual system?
Will I be able to run .exe files via wine with Arch Linux ARM?
If the installation finally fails for my notebook, will I be able to restore it easy? It's the step "invoke Recovery"?

If the install fails, it depends where it fails. If the battery goes poof while its partitioning that will be fun. If it goes poof while installing to its new partition, wipe and repeat. (Lesson: KEEP it PLUGGED)
16G of what though? Space reserved for Arch itself? It would fit just fine, just that you need to manage disk cache and applications. As well .exe are windows based files, you'll need WINE to run that. It might be slower than a normal x86 or 64-bit cpu as those .exe files were built for that, which then requires translation to the ARM cpu. Or might not run at all.

The install directions are for Putting ArchLinux ARM on a USB drive and booting from it.
So You have put nothing on the internal drive.
Everything ArchLinux ARM is on the USB.
Everything you do in it is on the USB.

The dueal boot idea is you boot Chome OS from the internal drive and use it.
OR:
You boot ArchLinux ARM from the USB drive and use it.
The two OS's do not mix or use the same drives.

That is how I use Puppy on my x86, x64, Chromebook.
All Puppy versions are installed on a micro SD card and use it for normal data storage.
I never boot Chome OS anymore.
I use the internal drive for storage.
Why?
The SD card is 128 GB and has much more room for normal operations and the 7 Puppy versions I have frugally installed.
Being a micro SD card you have to really look to even see it installed in the micro SD reader slot.
