Just published an article where Puppy is #1 https://linuxstans.com/best-linux-distr ... ops/#puppy

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing, Andrey. It is very much appreciated!

As for me, Puppy Linux's pro is IMMORTALITY and its con is DANGEROUSLY ADDICTIVE.

The next in line is MX for its VERSATILITY and its fully dedicated customer service on YouTube who goes by the name of "Dolph" (Dolphin Oracle).

While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Puppy Linux doesn’t really look like what you’d expect a modern operating system to look, feel, and act like;
it feels a bit outdated and contains within it quite a smaller library of software.

Looking at the images of the other LinuxOS's
Sure Fossapup64 could have used different desktop background and icons.
But the rest of the desktop, looks about the same as other Linux OS's.

In Puppy Linux all this eye candy can easily be changed!

Example:

.
Some more examples are here:

Feel and act like statements, I never understand.
Puppy works about like any Linux OS I have used.
About the only difference is how to get a program icon on the desktop. So what!

I would like to know what you consider is missing for software?
Is it a bunch of software you already know how to use?
Tell us something you cannot do with the software that comes already in the Fossapup64 OS?
How much software do you think can be put in a 300MB to 500MB OS?

This is the latest info:
General hardware minimum system requirements are:

CPU Type = x86, x86_64, AMD64

32bit Puppy's - CPU = single core Pentium 4 or equiv, RAM = 512mb

64bit Puppy's - CPU = 64 bit dual core, RAM = 1gb

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

Window-Icon-Mouse-pointer...WIMP.
Mot much if any difference between any os really.

ALL linux distros have taskbar.Desktop icons and apps.
puppy is right up there with the rest of them and users can customise.

Hi andreyn - in your review, your link to downloadable puppy versions at "https://puppylinux.com/download.html" goes nowhere :(
