Hi,
I have a question, how to install Fossapup on sda3 (ext4) partition?
sda4 and sda2 other linux installations are present.
I just started Fossapup from usb stick.
sda3 is 3rd ext4 partition on my disk
Also how Wine can be installed to run Windows applications?

To give you a good answer, how to setup the boot loader, to boot Fossapup64 9.5, after you install it as a frugal install.
Frugal is just what we call the install. It is still the complete Fossapup64 OS, just installed in a special way.
Need to know what other Linux OS's are on the computer.

This is not what I expected 
partition /dev/sda4 (ext4) Mint 20.3 (this partition is marked as boot)
partition /dev/sda2 (ext4) Mint 19.1
partition /dev/sda3 (ext4) - Fossapup64 to be installed
partition /dev/sda1 (NTFS) - some data, seems to be mounted in read-only mode
To start, Grub is used, than I can choose between Mint 20 and 19 to be started (btw. I don't know i.e. how to add new OS or change default system to start).
Install has few options:
Frugalpup
BootFlash
Installer
Burn ISO
Frugal also has few buttons:
Help
Settings
Puppy
Boot
BootCD
A few other questions before giving you install information.
sda1 partition formatted ntfs, I assume is where the boot loader files are located. Well, they could be on sda4.
But you say it is read only.
Can you look on sda1 and tell me what is on it?
The two Mint installs are using the Mint installed Grub2 boot loader to boot them.
To still use that boot loader.
You will have to do a manual entry in the Grub2 config file, for booting the Fossapup install.
Do you feel comfortable doing manual changes to a Grub2 menu config file?
Puppy has several boot loaders that are suppose to find other Operating systems, when you install them.
but they usually want to install to the first partition sda1.
But if sda1 is read only. How are they going to write to it.
About the sda3 partition formatted ext4.
Did you format it using some program in Mint?
If yes.
It is probably a 64bit ext4 format.
A lot of stuff in Puppy Linux is still coded to expect 32bit ext4 format.
So suggest you redo sda3 format, using Gparted program in Fossapup, running from the Fossapup USB install.
This Gparted only does ext4 32bit format.
Use this Gparted to make sda3 ext4 format.
At least you are doing the installs in the correct order
Make Puppy Linux the last to get installed.

I am hopping someone that has done a dual boot install of Puppy Linux and Mint, will see this topic.
They will know for sure what you need to do.
I have done it with Ubuntu. I am assuming it will be the same for Mint.

It is a bit different. I don't remember exactly order of creation but under Gparted it looks this way and in this order:
1) /dev/sda4 ext4 Mint 20 boot - almost sure that Grub is installed here
2) /dev/sda2 ext4 Mint 19
3) /dev/sda3 ext4 - Fossapup to be installed
4) /dev/sda1 ntfs - it is readonly but only for Fossapup, Mints have no problem to read or write on it.

Unfortunately I don't know even how to find this file but I also think this is the best way to do it.
sda1 is the last partition on HDD, no need to write on it during installation

Actually I formatted this partition with Fossapup Gparted.
Also copied files to folder "Puppy".

That is a backwards setup of the partitions.
Normally the order should be 1st partition sda1, 2nd partition sda2, 3rd sda3, etc.......
Was windows on this computer and it is no longer bootable?
sda1 looks like what Windows would use as C drive.
Do you know why sda3 has bionic for a label?
I guess the Mint installer program did this backwards partition labeling.
Not sure why.
I hesitate telling you to use one of the Puppy boot loader install programs to make a boot loader to boot all OS's with.
I think sda1 not being the first partition would be an issue.
I will give you this much info.
How to do a frugal install of Fossapup64.
Have the Fossapup64 9.5 ISO located where it can be accessed.
boot the computer with the Fossapup64 USB.
Run Frugalpup-flexable frugal installer
On the main window are selection buttons.
Select the Puppy button, to do the install.
Go through install process, selecting to install to sda3 partition.
Note:
When selecting the partition to install to.
A window pops up, giving option to make a directory(folder), to put the frugal install in.
I make this directory and usually name it, the name of the Puppy version.
Carefully read that windows info.
Press enter, makes the directory, not the OK button.
complete the install.
That is the frugal install.
The fossapup64 files inside a directory.
I am going to let someone that knows how to add a Puppy menu entry to the Mint boot loader config files.
Tell you how to do it.

I'm not precisely certain but you could manually modify the boot entries and copy it to a backup. That way when Mint updates you can recover it. You should preferably copy the syntax. If you don't know how to write it upload snippet of it and we can return you the snippet to paste in.

My process stops here, but there should be an entry for target sda3 (I do not have this mounted). This is for convenience, though not the only option, the Puppy boot you're working in.
I always use FAT32 or NTFS for compatibility, but I presume ext is acceptable for a frugal install.
Getting installed is the first trick. The second trick is getting your bootloader to recognize it. That means either modifying your Mint bootloader (bigpup ditto) or overwriting it with a Puppy tool like Grub2Config: viewtopic.php?t=3360
I came from Mint too, but always booted it live. I would ask them about adding a distro or use our tool.
I tinkered with Wine, but others should know more if you don't see search help.

I have read a few old topics about dual installs of Puppy Linux and Mint.
Using the two programs in this topic seem to provide the best results.

Boot the computer with the Fossapup64 USB install.
Download and install the two programs.
Run them each in this order:
Use Frugalinstaller-2.2 to do the Fossapup64 9.5 install.
Use Grub2config-2.0.1 to install a boot loader to boot all OS's.
The frugal install is no problem.
People report that Grub2config made a boot loader that has menu entries for Mint and Puppy Linux.
Hopefully, even with your not normal partition naming setup, it will work for you.
The program, should tell you, if there is an issue in trying to install the boot loader, correctly.

First, just to clarify: label "Bionic" was simply invented by me and set via Gparted, anyways I changed it recently, it could be just any name.
I re-formatted sda3 partition in Fossapup Gparted again, copied folder with installation files there.
But I don't understand something: Puppy button copied installation files to a folder on sda3 partition but how to install Fossapup?
I tried update GRUB using grup-update but no changed were detected.
Is there any way to add this partition to configuration file manually? Which file & how should be changed?
Considering grub2config there is an error as can be seen in the attached file, I cannot use this tool. Maybe if sda3 drive was set to boot and formatted to ext3 would be OK?
@mailak as an intermediate, I only know how to do things I have already done, and anything else is experienced guesswork.
Advanced users have a similar method with more experience under their belt. If you do something unique that works, YOU become the expert in it.

Copying is installation without any custom settings (i.e., the bootloader).
Your dialog looks like it is telling you ext4 is not acceptable. I would re-format and try again.
It is easy to change your bootloader but you need G2C to setup your Mint boots.
The steps are:
Have your os in place on designated partitions
Set the boot bit on the partition you wish to boot
Run the bootloader tool

Fossapup is installed.
That is a frugal install.
The files inside of the Fossapup64 ISO, put inside a folder on the sda3 partition.
To figure out what kind of entry you could manually but in the Mint boot loader config file.
Need to know the exact name of the frugal install folder on sda3.
By that error message.
Grub2config is not setup to support all possible format setups.

Anything that you would not want to delete?
I am wondering, if you have the save file used by the Fossapup USB, located there.
What is the chance you would be willing to totally delete everything on the drive.
Start over clean.
Making partitions and formatting.
Installing Mint and Fossapup fresh new installs.

Folder name on sda3 is "Puppy"
I wish rather not to delete files on sda1... I don't see even any advantage of it
Puppy is too generic a name for the frugal install folder.
Name it for the specific Puppy Linux version in it.

Strongly suggest you edit the name and change it.
And easier to use all lower case letters.
Linux is case sensitive.
So when doing manual entering of stuff, you do not need to make sure. is this a upper case letter or a lower case letter.

It would delete everything on the drive to start over fresh.
I asked about willing to start over fresh, so the boot loader installers Puppy Linux uses, can do all this for you.
But you have this issue.

Puppy boot loader installers want a normal partition setup.

I bet this computer started out having Windows on it.
You installed Mint and it did this not normal partition setup, so the files most people want to save, are still on the ntfs partition, windows was using.
