Could be that you need the firmware installed.
https://packages.debian.org/buster/firm ... sc-nonfree
firmware-misc-nonfree direct download (includes ralink firmware 2561)) install .deb:
http://security.debian.org/debian-secur ... u1_all.deb
EDIT: I see you posted also in "Beginners help"
As @backi mentioned, loading the firmware .squashfs may work too:

Re: WLan0 not work on StretchDog
hi
it looks that is not or maybe is in firmware problem..
but i download older DebianDog whezy which have Frisbee preinstalled
and i can get my wifi working ...how is that ?
but on the other side i cannot get proper resolution on this DebianDog
when in StrechDog i can 1280x1024 on my old LCD monitor..heh
so can i download Frisbee from somewhere and add it to Strech version
2017 year version 32bit
or maybe i can try with XenialDog or even TrinityDog ??
all distros are fine and work really well from usb stick

You are (most probably) using peasywifi,,,,,,,,, i suppose.
Try this:
1.Start Peasywifi (in Menu>Internet)
2.Click "Profile".
3.Click WPA or WPA 2
4. Click Scan
5.Choose your Network (if it is visible.......... if not..... you must install most probably missing Firmware Drivers......see above) .
6.Copy Name of your Network to "Profile Name".
7.Copy Name of your Network to "SSID"
8.Type in your Password/Passphrase
9.Click "make"
10.Restart "Peasywifi".
11.Click "connect"
If you want to be auto connected on Startup>>>>>Click on "Auto">>>>>click "on".>>>>>>>save(Settings)
Please give Report if you had Success or not.

Depends on which Wheezy version, if it's Openbox version e.g. DebianDog-Wheezy-openbox_xfce-2015-09-02-PAE.iso, it has lots of firmware pre-installed, so that would explain it, I tnink.
On Stretch you can install frisbee (but needs working network connection) apt update; apt install frisbee
, but I still think you need the ralink firmware too.
Re: WLan0 not work on StretchDog

Why not using the newest Bullseye-Dog64 or Fossa-Dog64......more Support.
Or do yo need a 32Bit Version?
Re: WLan0 not work on StretchDog
yes i need 32bit version and as i said with Frisbee my wifi work.
On Stretch you can install frisbee apt update; apt install frisbee
,
i can get it that way because only internet i can have is wifi
so i probably need to download frisbee from internet using windows
i use linux from usb only

Re: WLan0 not work on StretchDog
in between i am download ing XenialDog 2017 _firmware
i hope that should work but it is just openbox ...not xfce
but ok i will see
Re: WLan0 not work on StretchDog
Hi @AstonX
Here is a somewhat "newer" Bionic-Dog 32 bit version (all Firmware Included).

Then for Stretch, load firmware .squashfs https://github.com/fredx181/StretchDog/ ... e.squashfs at boot by putting it in the "live' folder.
This is not about frisbee. it can work with PeasyWifi too, just load the 99-firmware-stretch-live.squashfs, and report back please.
Anyway , link to frisbee .deb : https://fredx181.github.io/StretchDog/i ... d_i386.deb
(disclaimer: cannot be sure if all works as expected, as Stretch is not maintained anymore, better use newer DebianDog, e.g Buster, Bullseye (but the latter needs to be build yourself)
Re: WLan0 not work on StretchDog
report ok
with frrisbee as you say..not work
with firmware..same
then i download
bionicdog:jesse with firmware..again not work
can detect wifi and see AP but cannot connect
also bionic cannot detect properly monitor that really sucks
only StrechDog can set 1280x1024 on VGA
well i can try this new bullseye...but i will see

Pity that it still doesn't work for you.
Ok, so if I understand well, the wlan0 interface is detected but can't get a real connection.
One idea: Don't know if you have a router, I have similar problem sometimes and what helps me then (specially when I just switched from one distro to another) is to "reset" the router (turn off, wait 10 sec. then on again).
Re: WLan0 not work on StretchDog
no
i don't have a router than just wifi card in my pc
in between i tried some other puppies but every one of them have problems

If wifi doesn't work on all OS's you tried, then I would think that something may be wrong with your wifi card (or perhaps the firmware that doesnt support your wifi card properly , don't know)
Re: WLan0 not work on StretchDog
No problem
thanks for replays and links
ps..i just releoad old SalukiNOP and run Frisbee in 1 second he made connection
then i tried to figure driver ..it stated that is rt2561
