Much improved. For most of us, today in 2021, we dont have this in our current routers.
But the new routers are starting to roll-out with the new antennas to support the improvement.

Today, I am noticing mid-range cell-phones showing up with "WiFi 6e" along with routers. It's present-day, now.
The Standards Body spec is from last year. I would 'expect' the spec to be good for the next 2-4 years before the next spec upgrade and devices to change accordingly.
Wifi 6+ Products are showing up everywhere, just in time for many. Wifi speeds are now 5 times faster than MOST of your wired LAN cards in yout home's PC(s).
