Icon Finder! What a find!

Post by geo_c »

I'm sure this not news to many people, but I was downloading some GTK themes and so forth from the Puppy Package Manager, and I stumbled on a nice little pet called: Icon Finder.

You learn something everyday. Turns out that my system contains over 33,000 icons at the moment.

How is this even possible? Well come to think of it. I did go on an icon downloading spree not too long ago!

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

In my bionicpup32 it is a shell script in /usr/local/bin

#!/bin/bash

# Icon Finder v1.4 by SFR'2012-13; GNU GPL v2 applies.
#
# Supported formats: .bmp .gif .jpg .pcx .png .pnm .ppm .svg .tga .tif .xpm
# Partially supported: .ico (sometimes works, sometimes not)
# Unsupported by Gtk(dialog?)?: .pnm .xbm

Well, I can get one, but I installed it straight off the Fossapup64 Package Manager. I didn't download the package. However, doesn't puppy store the packages somewhere in the directory structure?

Here's an attached pet for the Icon Finder. The PPM is configured to download it in root I just discovered.

Attachments
iconfinder-1.4.pet

Well, I can get one, but ...

Then PLEASE do.
It's always better to link to the original source.

Can you display them? According to the author Icon Finder may crash after a maximum of ~9000 icons.

I did man, it's in the post right above yours! Sheesh, cut me some slack! Though maybe you mean get it from the forum as opposed to the PPM. It's found in the 'puppy no_arch' repo.

And it displayed as far as I scrolled through without crashing. I'll have to use it more to see if I run into any bugs.
