Ubuntu with nVidia-Wayland announced

Post by Clarity »

The 21.10 version is announced. They advise users not try to upgrade any release prior to 21.04.

If you are an nVidia video card, expect a setup-behavior improvement.

If you already have a SG2D USB stick, merely download the ISO file to your /BOOTISOS folder and boot. All versions of Ubuntu are enabled for this use. And, handle persistence as you normally would.

Oh, I don’t know, I don’t know. I don't really like Gnome.
And I doubt Wayland will be a panacea for all of Xorg's shortcomings.
I will certainly try to touch it. And I also want to wait for a response to this strategy from Linux Mint, which doesn't have Gnome.

Different devices. Different approach.

KDE version (Studio too) has it working, as well. I suspect that all 21.10 versions have video enabled OOTB. Thus no effort required.

Nvidia finally participating should be a plus for all future Linux.
