Error message when sending a private message

I sent a private message to another user. After clicking "send" I first got a popup message that the message has been sent successfully but immediately after that another popup message that there was an error sending the message (can't quite recall the exact message, think it just said general error, I think). However - the message is sitting in the Outbox so it looks as if has been executed successfully.

I would assume you're familiar with the workings of the PM system here on the forum, yes? Messages go into the "Outbox" initially; they only go into the "Sent messages" box at the point when the recipient opens them and reads the contents.

(This isn't me talking with my "mod" hat on, just as an ordinary forum user, 'cos I figured that one out years ago. But even many long-term 'Puppians' don't all seem to be aware of this stuff...)

I've had occasional "errors" over the years, mainly temporary things caused by unexplained 'glitches' somewhere in the system. They've always corrected themselves in fairly short order....at least, they always have for ME.

No, this is some system error. I also encounter some errors occasionally when posting comments. Sometimes the comment does not go "through" first time you click the send button ....and sometimes it does go through actually but you get an error message of some sorts....so you think it did not go through and click send again only to find out you have posted twice. But this actually occurs mostly when using Opera Mini which I normally use. Could be a proxy thing related to Opera Mini servers too.

I also see a general error on occasion when I click on a notification that there is a PM indicated in the inbox. When I refresh the error is gone and the PM inbox is in order. Not quite sure what the cause is.
