Been using Mint about 12 years(various Pups/Dogs about 3 years), and always setup for auto login. Evidently, last time I used Mnt19.3, in closing, I must have accidentally clicked "Logout" instead of shutdown. Now, when I bootup, Mint shows my name, requests password, but it doesn't let me type (what I think it might be-used with sudo), anything in. I'm sure feeling like a newbie. I'd sure appreciate any assistance on this. Thank you.

Not sure what you mean exactly: "doesn't let me type", it doesn't accept your user password ? or...
Re: Unable to login to Mint19.3
@tosim, boot with a puppy thumb then check the Mint disk to make sure your '*dm.conf' file didn't get combliterated. It'll be in /etc/lightdm, or /etc/gdm, or something like that. That should be where your autologin settings live ..
