both the technology and resources

At the moment, almost all resources are thrown on TEM/Zeus.

So far, the project is called Нуклон (Nucleon). According to the project, the space tug Zeus will be able to move a payload weighing up to 10 tons into the Moon's orbit in no more than 200 days. This period is significantly longer than the flight time to the Moon on liquid-propellant rockets, since the tug uses ion engines, which are many times weaker, but many times more energy efficient than liquid ones.

Venus is planned after the Moon. It should be noted that Venus has always been more interesting to Russian scientists than Mars. In the last 30 years, Mars has simply become "advertised and promoted" or something :)

But why is that - I don't believe a human can even walk on Venus, can they? Or is it simply that Russians prefer the Goddess of Love than the God of War?

From the link you provided, it says the thrust is 18N. To navigate a 10 ton spacecraft.

Yup, I remember the first ground images of Venus came from a Russian lander, which only last a few minutes before it melted. I can't remember the name of the probe, though. EDIT: It's Venera-9. It actually lasted for 53 mins, so, not bad for 1970s technology!

All questions to the English version of Wikipedia :) Where does she get these numbers. Regarding the reactor and the megawatt, it is correct.
----------+++++----------
There will be auxiliary blocks. All this will (if any :) ) be injected into a launch orbit with an altitude of at least 800 km (in case the reactor explodes :? ).

Where does all this come from? Of course from the USSR. First, there was an interorbital tugboat Hercules, which was to be launched into an orbit 200 km by Buran (Soviet Space Shuttle). But then all sorts of revolutionary events stopped everything.

Then the Ferry was developed. For the ISS. The Ferry was supposed to lift containers with cargo from a low reference orbit of 200 km to the ISS orbit of 400 km. But it was assumed that the ISS would soon come to an end.

And now the time has come for Zeus :)

In principle, the Goddess of Love and the God of War have one common goal. To get a lot of money out of the pockets and wallets of two well-known state-owned companies and many private investors. This goal is to serve science and humanity.

Hardly anyone is planning to walk :) Although I am sure, as in the case of Mars, there will be volunteers :D In addition, the choice of Mars is about the same justified.

But I will offer four options. Your choice.
1. Very simple. It is easier to get to Venus than to Mars, because it is closer to us (if we take the minimum possible distance to both planets), and "windows" for sending (when the planet is closest to us) happen every one and a half years, and not two, as with Mars.
Additional options:
2. Silly Mars. There is already a walk-through courtyard, public square and thoroughfare. Not interested.
3. Silly Russians. Always going in the opposite direction.
4. Silly Mercury (unexpected option :) ). What is this new fashion, that on average it is the planet closest to the Earth more than others.

All questions to the English version of Wikipedia :) Where does she get these numbers. Regarding the reactor and the megawatt, it is correct.

I looked at the thrust comparison of ion thrusters https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ion_thruster. Most of them had the units of mN (milli newton - I'm serious). 18N = 18,000 mN is big by comparison.

For example, the ion thruster for the Dawn spacecraft produces only 92 mN for an input power of 2.3kW.
Scaling up to 1MW (electric) on TEM (that's a factor of about 500), that gives an indicative figure of 46,000 mN, or 46N. It's bigger but still in the same order of magnitude, and compared to mass it has to push ...
And like you say, with 200 days (one way?) trip, I guess it won't be used to deliver manned missions.

Thanks for sharing the history. Buran would have been cool if it ever saw the light of day. Too bad it had to be shelved.

In principle, the Goddess of Love and the God of War have one common goal. To get a lot of money out of the pockets and wallets of two well-known state-owned companies and many private investors. This goal is to serve science and humanity.

You put the strikethrough on the wrong words. There, fix that for you

But I will offer four options. Your choice.

I will add one more. Floating cities in Venus is way cooler than domed or underground complex in Mars.
Sunlight is good. It's natural. Hiding in caves are not.

What is this new fashion, that on average it is the planet closest to the Earth more than others.

And the article is written by a PhD, working for NASA, seriously? They didn't consider that we need to fly right through the Sun in order to obtain that "PCM" average? Sheesh. No wonder they have to subcontract the moon landing to SpaceX.

There is an old Soviet cartoon released in 1969. "In the Country of Unlearned Lessons". Good, instructive.

Lazy and bad pupil Victor does not want to learn, but wants adventure. Once his wish comes true and his own school textbooks send him to the Country of Unlearned Lessons, but they set a condition: if he does not cope with the difficulties and dangers that await him on the way, he will remain in this country forever.

Victor is confronted with his old school mistakes. For example, a cow, which in the lesson he called a "carnivore" and a polar bear, which he unknowingly sent to the South Pole, having solved the problem incorrectly :)

He also met one and a half digger  The result of an incorrectly solved problem.

Since 1969, little has changed :) :

There are other options as well.

Here it should be remembered that space was originally needed by two you-know-what countries, not for scientific purposes, but for military. Unfortunately, politics even now triumphs over science and slows down progress (cosmic progress, not the progress of ways to kill each other).

The nuclear tug with a megawatt installation can be used in the air defense system to track aircraft from orbit and target designation to weapons. With a radar power of 50 kW, it will be able to cover an area with a radius of 2200 km. With 200 kW equipment, it will be able to cover an area with a radius of 4300 km. In the second case, the entire airspace of Russia and part of the space of neighboring states will be included in its zone of action.

To understand in three minutes the approximate appearance of such a "wunderwaffe" :) :

Thanks. The CGI looks interesting, but it seems that there are too many mechanical movements, and lots of possiblities for failure. I hope the civilian version (which is used as tug) is less complicated.

And you are right in your own way.
Almost all peoples still admire the Egyptian pyramids. Was not Pharaoh a "dictator" :) ?
Of course, we can refer to Erich von Däniken and tell a beautiful tale about ancient Aliens who built pyramids for beauty and enlightenment
But in fact, we admire the damned dictators and the large number of slaves.

Exactly, which is truly sad. We can't work together out of our own will, for our own good, unless we are being coerced and forced by "external factors" (tyrants being one of these), can we?

Grey wrote: Fri Sep 17, 2021 5:07 pm

Obviously.

Of course, we can refer to Erich von Däniken and tell a beautiful tale about ancient Aliens who built pyramids for beauty and enlightenment

The pharaoh must know something about these aliens so that he could blackmail and force them to build these pyramids. Best politician ever.   (Note to self: wrote down this idea. Might be a recipe for best-selling scientific archeological book or something. If Erich can do it, then so can I  ).

But in fact, we admire the damned dictators and the large number of slaves.

Nah, I don't admire the dictators. I don't even admire the pyramids. It's cool and such, but at the end of the day, it's just a tomb. A big one, true, but a tomb is still a tomb.

What I *do* admire, is what we humans can achieve, if only we together put our creative minds and work into it.

Sadly, as I said above, most people can't get above their petty differences unless forced by external conditions, e.g. dictators. And dictators being (mostly egomaniac) dictators, they end up using that "power" to glorify themselves (e.g. building giant tombs) instead of advancing humanities. Such a waste of potential (human potential, not the dictator's potential).

_____

But let's not talk about sad things. There are too many bad news in lately. Let's talk about more uplifting things instead, like space-related technologies, either real or unreal

If only we are taught that in Western Societies.

The achievements which stand the test of time are created on some scientific basis which is rooted in evidence.

We are still NOT taught that ideas spring from individuals, who usually provide some leading evidence. Then others evaluating those basis, then join in to verify the evidence. Who, in turn, will act sometimes in conjuction with the ideas individual(s) to move it to mainstream benefit. This done all the while on finding and incorporating more reality based evidence.

In the west, we are not taught that, "togetherness", we can all move forward. That "together" is what we must change and on a mass scale teach it as something for all of us to strive for.

My life in technology is because, to me, it is the one thing that is rooted in evidence and not in feelings.

Every spaceship and cosmonaut should pass the test with the soured cabbage heads.
The ones that opened the barrel full of those know how it is.
Of course it doesn't have to be cabbage, some other vegetables would do.
The other day we've prepared turšija for zimnica (winter food stock).
Cauliflowers, cucumbers, carrots, onions, peppers...all to be soured.

The recipe says 8 litres of water, 1 liter of vinegar (alcohol based), 15 spoons of salt, 1 vinobran. Now it's important that the liquid covers the vegetables so we put 1 and a half measure of every ingredient.
We use the plastic grid to hold the vegetables under the liquid and put something heavy on top.
People usually use rock but in orbit it wouldn't help. :D
But rock would be the least of the problems if the cover on the plastic barrel loosens. :D

Much better now, but I get tired after some walk especially if that includes the stairs.
There are muscle cramps in my legs if I try walking farther.
Will get there after a few more months.
I'm lucky because it could have been worse.
Some people have to learn how to walk again afer covid.
And some people died.
I lost some weight 7-8 kg from the loss of appetite and high fever during the covid.
Have to tighten the belt on my pants.

Not an orbit, but a garbage dump

Post by Grey »

This time the space news is more “space”.

On November 12, a fragment of a Chinese meteorological satellite, shot down during China's tests of anti-satellite weapons in 2007, may fly up to the ISS. The Russian Mission Control Center may carry out a space debris evasion maneuver for the ISS tonight (at night on November 10). Today, this is in order not to interfere with the docking of the Crew Dragon ship, which will fly tomorrow.

The impulse value will be 0.7 meters per second, the engine running time will be 361 seconds. After the maneuver, the average altitude of the ISS orbit will increase by 1.2 kilometers and will be 420 kilometers above the Earth.

How much garbage is flying in orbit: ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Yes, I heard that. I didn't read the article, I thought it was a joke. With Soyuz at least, it's only 3 hours up, as opposed to 23 hours for Dragon ... I'm not sure of the de-orbit times for both, though.

But what's the problem, just open the airlock, and do your business right there, right? Nobody will be looking anyway

What happened to the hermetic plastic bag, did they ban that on Dragon too? (No offense to women, but men obviously have the benefit in this particular situation, gravity or no gravity).

This is a low orbit. Can you imagine a flight to Mars? Human physiology is not designed for such feats.

As people like to say, it's only "boring and thoroughly unimportant implementation details", and we can always "modulate" and "compensate"

Until we perfect some sort of stasis (aka "human hibernation"), I don't think anybody will get anywhere beyond the moon __alive__. How much food you think we'll need for a 6-month journey for a crew of three? Even with freeze-dried rations? How do you like to eat freeze-dried food for the next 6 months? Yeah me neither.

That's why we enjoy SF so much, eh? Because in reality, don't even bother to talk about lightspeed when even the nearest planet is not (practically) reachable. Space is indeed the final frontier.

On November 12, a fragment of a Chinese meteorological satellite, shot down during China's tests of anti-satellite weapons in 2007, may fly up to the ISS.

There will be more of this coming, the way we've been treating our low Earth orbits. Imagine a rocket is hit by a debris on its way up. That's would make spectacular news.

The Kessler effect is real, although nobody can pin out when that's gonna happen, and thus, let's just conveniently assume it will never do and bury it under wood. Let's talk about electric self-driving cars instead (which requires us to put more of those debris ... I mean disposable satellites) to LEO.

With every Starship test launch, they launched at least five other rockets in between, and each time I read the payload being "Starlink". I heard our nerd hero Musk has managed to put over 1,000 Starlink sats there; and I'm sure his baldy companion would not like to be outdone.

But the (serious) question is: Does he have the de-orbit plan?
If not, who will be responsible to clean the stuff up?
Does anybody who ever puts things up have a de-orbit plan?
Do we have regulations that says you can't put stuff up unless you plan to bring it down (something like collecting your dog poo when you're walking the dog?)
Even if we do, Is it actually enforced, anyway?

Watching all these things feel like watching Wile E Coyote sawing the branch he's sitting on ...

Perhaps not too bad, while waiting for the sky clears up by itself, we can replenish our fossil fuel. And we can re-attempt to conquer space again in the next million years or so ... hopefully before the Sun starts to roast us. And make sure we do it right next time.

If not, who will be responsible to clean the stuff up?

"The next generations will come up with something, they will already have blasters there!"
I think this is a typical plan for the future in any country :)

Except, unlike what movies lead us to believe, the blasters (if it exists and it really works) actually makes the problem worse

Which makes me remember of this fun stuff from a couple of weeks ago: NASA Planetary Defense's test. If this is really the best we've got I suppose the $300 million dollars is better used elsewhere, for example, designing the LEO debris collector ...

Much better now, but I get tired after some walk especially if that includes the stairs.

Get well completely. You still have to give the astronauts a lot of recipes from the cuisine of the Balkan peninsula :thumbup2:

Хвала сиви.
Thanks grey, if not in space it would come in handy on Earth.

One day those asteroids will be diverted to some poor countries
and the rich one's are going to invent a defence from such "defensive" systems to sell them.
Nothing personal in that technological terror, it's only business.

Next personal techology which is already being applied in Japan and Australia are smartphone apps that inspect people in self-isolation.
Apps transmit the exact GPS location of the targeted self-isolated subject's smartphone
and whenever the gov pings the subject, this one has to take a photo/scan face with the face recognition software.
Option two: the subject gets the go-to-jail card.
People are behaving irresponsible but really this home surveilance and privacy invasion tech are too scary.

I'm not too familiar with the so called neuro-link or brain-to-machine tech but Elon Musk thinks it will be very personally attached to the many people's brains.
What is there more personal than inserting electrodes into brain.
Imagine you start thinking about cars and the virtual Tesla car dealer appears right next to you with words: "This brand new Tesla can be yours for ONLY $99,999"

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Post by Grey »

I watched TV today :)

Artificial intelligence technologies have no soul. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the international conference on artificial intelligence and data analysis Al Journey 2021.

"It's hard to imagine artificial intelligence having a soul," Putin said.

However, a minute later, he suggested that artificial intelligence technologies be introduced more actively and faster into everyday life :)

People, what do YOU think about this? Can Sarah J. Connor find a soul in Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 :) ?

Cutting Edge- Nightmare and ultimate Insanity:Can Robots be religious?

Cutting Edge- Nightmare and ultimate Insanity:

Can Robots be religious?

This is no "Conspiracy" Bullshit.--No Science Fiction.---
This is no Fun...this is really serious nightmarish Stuff......and it is "real".

AI (artificial Intelligence) Religion is upon us. Welcome to our(Transhuman)Future.
Welcome to Hell.

Religion goes AI (artificial Intelligence) and Virtuel Reality.

"Robot priests can bless you, advise you, and even perform your funeral.

A new priest named Mindar is holding forth at Kodaiji, a 400-year-old Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan. Like other clergy members, this priest can deliver sermons and move around to interface with worshippers. But Mindar comes with some ... unusual traits. A body made of aluminum and silicone, for starters."

Mindar is a Robot.

This is realy spooky and frightning.

Transhumanism anyone???

Let`s worship "The BEAST-Machine"---Cyber Satan?

Some Musings.

New World Order?
One World (cyber) Religion?
"The Un-holy Church of Cyber Satan"...... Hail Cyber Satan???

Antichrist ......the Ruler of ""The World to come" ?...

Will we soon be all enslaved by "Machines"?

Will we be finally all vaccinated/marked/"chipped",.....connected/(Block)chained to the "Beast System".....to "The Matrix"....to the BlockCHAIN?
Forced to "Worship" THE BEAST-666"? -----Cyber Satan?

Really disturbing.

Escaping the "Matrix".....is it somehow possible????

I don`t want to be(come) adsorbed by "THE BEAST-MACHINE"`s Virtual Realities.

Don`t want to worship "THE (satanic)BEAST-MACHINE".
Don`t want to be transformed into a dehumanized Android/Cyborg.
I do not consent.

Man......That`s really creepy Stuff...

Who knows....Maybe it is already far too late for us mere "Humans".

Vlada doesn't like AI but likes the revenue that it creates.
But seriously Russia has to keep up with the fast emerging new technologies and be competitive on the market.
AI can help do anything more efficiently.
It has no soul, so what it does depends on the purpose it's programmers task it with.
It can be more efficient in killing people or do some agricultural tasks.
It can help solve some tasks that it would take much longer for us to do.
But if AI reaches a point that it can perform tasks without the human intervention and does better, faster, more efficient many will lose jobs.
Make self driving taxis and taxi drivers become obsolete.
At some point AI will evolve to be smarter than humans.
And it evolves fast and learns to perform boxing for a week.
Considering AI didn't know it has arms or legs and couldn't walk that's very fast.
This channel on YT has some demonstrations of what neural networks are capable of:
https://www.youtube.com/c/K%C3%A1rolyZsolnai/videos
Who knows what the the government and corporations are developing behind the closed doors.
If we pour water in the glass with wine we are spoiling the wine,
but if we pour wine in the glass with water we are improving water.
If humans merge with the AI will that corrupt humans and improve AI or is it the other way around?

Let us suppose. But what kind of intelligence is this if it can't make decisions on its own? And more. Is it possible to consider a controlled robot (operator is hiding in the bushes with a remote control :) ), in fact, a robot?

backi, I'm glad you still care about humanity and morality  About robots and religion... that's a good question.
It is quite possible that initially religion changed semi-savage people for the better. However, now it is a business, commercial activity (sale of candles, "special" food, paid rituals and much more). Outside the window we have capitalism and it is allowed to do business. Robots are also allowed to be used in commercial activities. So yes - robots may well be religious :?

Elon Musk-Mars SpaceX

Post by backi »

1. Mark Zuckerberg looks somehow "nonhuman".......almost like a "Grey" Alien ........
Elon Musk seems to be a "strange/alien" Fellow ...too........also somehow "nonhuman".

Found this by "Coincidence".

Quotes from an Article here:
Richard Sauder:Author "Underground Bases and Tunnels. What is the Government trying to hide?"
https://eventhorizonchronicle.blogspot.com/

I mention these things, because I could not help but notice that just a few days ago, one of Elon Musk's Space-X, Dragon space capsules returned a crew of astronauts to Earth at 22:33 Florida time, or 3:33 Greenwich Mean Time.
The Masonic numerology is ever with us, lo, these unknown centuries later, even, or especially, in the so-called "space" program(s).

As for the Dragon space capsule, would that be "dragon", as in the infamous Draco Reptilian E.T.s, the bad boys of the galaxy.
Is Elon Musk in cahoots with them?

Or would that be "dragon", as in Revelation 12:9 in the Christian scriptures? -- "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the Earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

Is that who Elon is working with, or for, and so has named his space capsules after him? Is the Elon Musk psy-op in league with dark forces?

In any event, this planet is being run on Freemason 333 time and has been for a very long while. To cut to the chase, Elon Musk is self-evidently all in on the whole operation.
He's an artificially made man who popped up like a South African mushroom after a spring rain.
The whiz kid, the boy wonder who came out of nowhere to be one of the richest tycoons of this, or of any era.
Is the "Elon" psy-op even an organic human, or would it perhaps be a bio-engineered clone artificially animated by A.I., with a fictional life story?

Yes. The allegedly "brilliant" engineer who is on the way to colonize Mars.
It's been in the news for years: Elon is going to colonize Mars! Here, read this one; it lays out some of the details.

SpaceX's Mars Colony Plan: How Elon Musk Plans to Build a Million-Person Martian City
https://www.space.com/37200-read-elon-m ... -plan.html

The fiendish plan of the dark controllers is also ever with us, at least so far, in this demonic year of 2021, and Elon is their boy.

Please consider that in 1952, Wernher von Braun, a former NAZI SS officer and one of the greatest and most influential aerospace engineers of the 20th century, who built V-2 rockets for Hitler during WW-II, and ballistic missiles and Moon rockets for the USSA military and NASA after WW-II, wrote a book entitled, Project Mars. In the book,
Mars is colonized and ruled by a leader named Elon.

German engineer (Wernher von Braun) predicted man named ‘Elon’ would conquer Mars in 1952 novel

https://nypost.com/2021/05/08/german-en ... 952-novel/

Strange Coincidences.

Wernher von Braun was a high level player in the game. So is Elon Musk. We are in a 333 charade. That's what time it is. As for the year, it's whatever year the controllers of the false reality decide that they want it to be.

Strange days indeed.

John Lennon:
Nobody told me there'd be days like these
Strange days indeed

Strange Days indeed.
