Hello
Has anyone done any work on getting Puppy working on a Smart Phone.
It is time for me to get a smart phone but I have great problems with android an google so I wondered if anyone had used Puppy.
There are open source alternatives like LineageOS but I am not sure.
Help appreciated.
Thanks

Why would you want to use puppy on a smartphone?.. My experience with a touchscreen on a puppy was rather not great. You're probably better off using open source alternatives to android such as crdroid, lineageOS, etc.

I suppose because I know Puppy and do not like android.
I will try LineageOS 18.1.

please share some comments about your experiments with this in the "other distros" section if you can.
the puppy philosophy has always been about utilizing older computers/devices, and old phones are becoming ubiquitous.

Re: Puppy on Smart Phone anyone.
Some ideas for this evaluation
Puppy is a Linux implementation on PC technology.
Linux is Ubiquitous; as it turns 30 years old today.
Android is a Linux implementation on a small form-factor.
Apple Macs was re-started by Jobs with a Unix (NEXT), then Linux foundation.
LineageOS is a Linux implementation
The idea that one Linux implementation is any better or worst than another is a personal. I like cars, and my "preference" of a model has NOTHING to do with the ability of the car versus any car; namely each works as a transportation device.
IMHO, we could focus on what is BEST for the job we need versus having a hatred for some things we have never owned.
@BarryK wrote a blog today about selecting something "BEST for the job". I have to agree.
This post does not preclude that the OP "may" be asking for support of a project he has aspiration for and may have already begun work.

Thanks Clarity, but I get a more from my car than a transportation device, its quite a pleasure to transport myself sometimes in it.
Best for the job is probably not Puppy so I am going for LineageOS which is open source , like Puppy and unlike Android.
